Hi,

I have recently aquired a Decimator. I found that as pilot I cannot use Astromech commands. So.. I loaded in my alt on my second PC. He has JTL but is a novice pilot. I strapped him in and sure enough, he's able to use my astromechs.

Am I onto something? I went out in my friends Deci with me and another guy on the guns and he said that astromechs don't work..

Is this because he needs a co-pilot? Or do they just not work/do anything like he said?

any faction play can shoot the guns or walk around, but only quailified pilots can fly and faction (in this case IMP) co-pilot.

So novice pilot is enough? I did get on-screen messages that said my Tier 3 and 4 astromechs where working.

never tried it myself, always had master co-pilots.

But as the astro-mech is owned by the pilot (who is master) and not the co-pilot I dont think rank has any bearing on it.

Interesting point to note (and maybe a bug), but ground faction counts for being a co-pilot in factional POB ships. My wife, a Smuggler's Alliance ace, can co-pilot my Decemator, since we are both Imperial. Sadly, this does not work in reverse with her YT-1300.

Yup... once again, freelancers are screwed. We can co-pilot for the ground faction we're in, but have to find another freelancer to co-pilot for us. And freelancers are rare. At least on my server. Last time I needed a co-pilot I had to hire one for 400K...

Jedi are seriously underpowered. They need a snare, invisibility, a ranged nuclear attack and a flying mount that farts fire
