I am about to start doing the mining missions. I guess I can finish that with about anything. But how about when I start to do some sereious mining, which ship/equipment would you recommend when out mining? I am currently low level pilot though (tier 2 soon tier 3, have not touched space sicne november). Is it good to have a 3 gun ship (Kimogila to start with and Rihxyrk later on) and maybe have 1 mining laser, 1 tractor beam and a normal gun (for protection) or should I have 2 mining lasers instead (not sure how well they do in space combat but I can also use missiles for protection).

Which ship is best for mining in your opinion (no matter which level)?

I am total noob when it comes to space mining (and I have forgotten a lot for my pilot skills as well lol)

I use a Krayt Gunship

Anything with 3 guns, you are right on the weapon placement,1 mine laser,1 tractor, and 1 defense blaster. If you have the krayt and a buddy to ride the turret then have another defense laser there. I have never seen the need for more than one mining laser if you have a tractor beam and are using a markIII mine laser.

Well, a friend and I both mine in our Krayts... you can fit the cargo hold, mining laser, and still have plenty of firepower if pesky bandits show up.

Krayt wins hands down. Get you masters badge and get the krayt. It has enough slots and missles, and handles better then the Kimo or Rhix (however you spell it
