Capaciter to shield shunt 3 or perferably 4 (and as many overloads as you can fit in your droid depending on whether you have gotten the tier 3 droid box. lvl 3 overloads are your best bet), mark IV shield, decent capaciter (looted lvl 2 or 6, recharge 35+ cpacity 800+). Blast in and shoot, blast out and recharge shield. Repeat untill weapons are dead. Make sure to use bomberstrike. If necessary get more help.

I just solo'd this one this morning on my 2nd try. How?

3) Cap to Shield Shunt 3 (plus RO3, WO3, WepCapO3)

4) Patience

5) Run 'n Gun.

Once the bombers have the targets engaged, engage quickly, then pull out and recharge your shields with thedroid programfrom the hits you're sure to take. Lob a missile or two in when you make each run, it makes things go a little faster too. Disable as many of the escorts as you can early, then carefully joust and take out the engine on the nova. Once you do that, it'll sit there like a fat pig while you mop up the rest of the escort fighters. All the while the bomber strike team will harass the fighters and the nova. Pick off any remaining escorts you didn't yet disable, take out the weapons on the nova, then blow 'em all up.

Don't be afraid to hyper back to the Yavin IV station for a quick repair if the nova tags you too badly. You have time to engage, take out some escorts, hyper back and repair, and get back to the mission target.

On gunships, it seems better to hit the engines first, then once it's stopped you can open the range a bit and dogfight anything else.
