Say I drop master...I can no longer use my gear or ships, have to completely regrind, but get double xp?

Do I have to redo the arc and jsf missions in order to fly them at 4333 again or am I set for life?

Is there any real advantage to doing this? (short of getting rid of the worthless privateer specials)

when you drop your first pilot squadron after mastering it you get 2x xp (if you aced two you get 3x, i think it stops there though). you also lose any banked xp you have so you start with 0 xp, even if you have 10mil+ xp it will be reset to 0. make sure you don't have a inspiration buff when you drop it though or you'll end up with negative xp and either have to grind out of it or hope a CSR 0's it for you.

the ship quests only need to be completed once, after that you just need the 4/x/x/x box of any pilot professionto fly them.

the point of doing another squadron depends on the person. some people do it for the reward loot, others for the badges. alot of pilots will grind out another squadron when they get bored being an ace or want to try another profession entirely.
