In particular...
Sound...
Is there any engine/manufacturer that will change the way a YT or Decimator sounds? I am looking for something with a high pitched scream, a la the Falcon from the movies...The YT and Deci sound, well...Kind of like a deep lions roar....And its not loud enough

I've never heard of anyone doing any 'studies' on this, but as far as I can tell (as Imp pilot) I can use one engine in my TIE Advanced..put it in my Firespray and they sound entirely different. I think sound is completely based on the ship being flown and not the engine part itself. I might be wrong, though. I've used several engines in my Advanced, but I've never noticed it sounding any different.

The "quest engine" is the reward for finishing Tier 3 in all three squadrons, to my knowledge (depending on the faction, the name of the engine changes, as it does with the weaponry). It used to be the 92.9 L6, now it's the 79.0, which after REing and EO3, hashes out to 106.8 (or 1068kph on a 100.0 speed ship, slightly less on the Dunelizard) to the 92.9's total of ~1254kph after REing and EO3.
People sell them off so cheaply before realizing that even with the nerfed speed the engines STILL have the highest hp/armor of any engine of their class available, the L6 AND L8 engines. They're PERFECT engines to use in REing if you're still using a non-REed HORRIBLY beat up L6 reward and are looking to get more life out of it.
