Heya I have recently purchased an oppressor and have noticed that when I come off a high speed turn and try to get my sights on an enemy my ship tends to want to drift a lot. I noticed this phenomenon when I flew a bomber and subsequently ditched the bomber. How can I minimize this to get back to the handling of say a aggressor or tie advanced? I have tried things like increasing my speed to level out my target and provide more control that way but that is only good for a few situations...any suggestions?

The pitch and yaw of the oppressor isnot as nimble as the interceptor (100 vs 300 of the Interceptor), so your turns will not be as swift and might be causing the drifting feeling.....especially if youve been flying at full speed all the time. The bomber is even slowerwith a rating of 50.I had the same thing when I went from a Dunelizard to a Krayt.
What Ive done is make a macro to fly at about half speed (/throttle .55) and bound it to my RMB. Its great for turning, especially in the larger ships and a quick "match speed" bind will get you back up to speed after the turn.

You're talking about inertia, your ship wants to go straight, your thrusters make it turn. Endredult is drift or inertiaslide. The heavier the ship is the worse it gets. Boosters and throttling up after a turn counters it.

Accelerate about 65% of the way through your turn. Your problem is a real life physics phenomenon mimiced in this game...its called inertia. If you think your Opressor is bad....go rebel and fly a Bwing

after Flying my Tie/advanced and then tie oppressor for a few days, I logged in my Rebel pilot, and broke out the bwing, OMG.
Needless to say, I may not fly it again, lol.
