Thread: Millenium Falcon blindspot?

I'm having trouble taking out Nym's Kemoglia Claw ship. I can take the Enforcer XWings out q easily but three blasts from the Claw and its all over.

Does this ship aka the Falcon have a blindspot/vulnerability? From the looks of it those turrets spin all the way round so I presume that there are no clear firing poisitions that I can use.

Also - does anyone know if the Tie Fighter (Tier 1) take missiles? I have Mark1 Proton :Launcher and Mark1 Proton missiles but neither will load onto my ship.

I'm pretty sure every fighter can use missiles.
They go into the "Ordnance" slot, but it might be that the TIE fighter has not enough mass free

About the blindspots: In normal space (means outside of Kessel and DS) most ships don't have blindspots, since they don't follow a stupid flightpattern, but turn around and charge and follow you once you attack them. So even if you find a Blindspot on a YT-1300, chances are that it just turns around so it hits you again.

Good chance for a blindspot though is: Right behind the engine, very close to the ship, if its fire radius is anything like on player YTs you're safe there very close to the ship... as long as it doesn't turn

Against falcons, and novas and Decimators, try to come from top or bottom, so only one gun can shoot at you, and target the weapon. When your shield get low, hit your boosters, and then use the droid command "shunt cap to shield" to recharge the shields, then gain distance, regen shields and when the droid program is ready again, strafe the YT again until both weapons are down.

Intersting idea tho I'm not sure I have that droid program yet.

It is a privateer droid program, get a chip from a privateer pilot and program your flight computer with it (also get capacitor overload and reactor overload from the privateers at this occasion).

Oh, if I had a credit for every struggling pilot who didn't run the necessary droid programs!

YT's, Nova's, and Deci's are all a nice midrange target too - they really can't take many more hits than a normal starship, especially when compared to gunboats that can sit and take a lot of abuse from you. When you come up on one of these, do as another poster suggested and come from the top or bottom so you only get hit by one gun. As a rule of thumb with these three ships-

- If the ship is a higher tier than you, go for the weapons first

- If the ship is lower than you, just blow it up

After the fighter screen is down, make long fast passes at the ship. If it doesn't blow on the first pass, boost away from it and recharge your shields with cap to shield shunt. Then turn around and repeat.

Ramona read my mind again. hmph

well not like it's a brainstorm, but she's totally correct, the majority of the punishment comes when you are in range of both guns. take one out of the picture, and it becomes much easier.

The best way to bait a YT is in a pair. Get the missiontaker to aggro the bird while the wingman boosts in behind with the transport in pursuit. Take position behind the engines (so close you're colliding with them, and neuter it (or destroy it if the mission isn't to dock/capture it).

In PvP - there are no blindspots unless someone isn't watching their ass.

Thanks again for the help.

I will do as you say but first need some cash. I also think I need a better ship first because I can't load any missiles on my Tie yet because of Mass Restrictions. I put some Alderaan Royal armor on my back but because of restrictions I then have to load uip protype on the front.

Also I finf it hard to use Droid programs ion combat as I have no joystick so when controlling, I can't see the quick bar.

Actually I do have a joystick but every time I use it the vibration goes on and stays on and I can't get it to stop.

I've had success on those and gunboats by just making passes on them and targeting the weapons. If you're faster than what you're shooting at, it's easy enough. Make your first run head-on and target weapon 0, try to keep a little deflection so you're only exposed to one weapon, fire a sustained burst on the way in, and hit the boosters and jink like crazy on your way out. At about 600-800m past your target, turn around, wash, rinse, repeat until both weapons are disabled. Then pull up next to him and finish the job

Points to remember:

-You're in a light fighter. Don't even try to slug it out with him. Size and mobility are your advantage.

-When you pass your target, it will turn around to face you/try to run you down. Making passes like this means you only have to chew through the front shields and armor to get to the weapons.

-When you target Weapon 0 first, once it is destroyed you will cycle to Weapon 1 automatically. No fumbling with the [ key in the middle of a tough fight.

Good luck!
