Which one do you think is best suited to a mercenary?
My RP character is the soon-to-be GM of a Special Ops guild. Chances are I'll end up with a Nova and an X-Wing as permenant parts of my arsenal...my personal squad in the guild is probably gonna be an X-Wing based unit, and I want the Nova availiable for occasional use as a command/transport ship.
However, I also need a ship for my pilot to use as his "personal" courier. He's a former Bounty Hunter / Mercenary type. Before that, he was an Imp. He learned to fly with the Empire, but because of game restrictions, I can't have a TIE-based fighter.
I'm drawn to the new Jedi Fighter from RotW...its similar to a TIE Fighter (ish), and its different enough from the standard Rebel design to fit with the "personal ship" idea. However, I don't know who its going to be availiable to yet. The Firespray, obviously, is a non-Rebel ship...but its a little too cliche. There's the Z95, I suppose, which is used by all sorts...the Y-Wing too. But they're a little...I dunno.
What would you guys recommend? I'm looking for a personal courier, to get me from A-to-B, and maybe get me involved in a few battles here and there. What'd be good?

I still say trick out a Ywing with top flight gear. Not a LP, but a 2 seater. Suitable as "prisoner transport", personal transport, and a heck of a lot of fun to bring up a gunner in. Plus, three more words: flame paint job

Just get an A-wing, figure out how to tweak the A-wing to its finest point. It's all I use. I'm leaning to the Jedi Starfighter (besides the fact it looks part A-wing, hate the imp bubble)because itsgonna be an A-wing with anextra weapon point. Maybe more mass...

With the right parts the awing is very deadly, and uber fast, As for the new ships on RotW, It is not known witch ships are going to do what and what factions are gonna get em, plus, Whos gonna make these new ships and how much will they cost, I imagine that in the biggining weeks of release it would be impossible to buy any of the new ships without paying an arm and a leg to get em. You almost have to get ur self the SW skill . oops out of topic, get the awing for now, the ywing is too slow, the firespray is to expensive, and to z95 is too noobish.
But just in case, I have all my bases covered, lol.

I guess I can always keep the chassis for all my ships redeeded, in case I ever need them.

Just in case you guys missed it, he's asking for RP reasons, not outright performance.

I'll stick with a Y-Wing now, until RotW comes out, and I've seen who gets the Jedi. Lol.

The new ARC 170 may be a good way to go. Crew of 3 massive firepower and apparently the mass to carry a mountain of shields and armor. Like a Y-wing on steroids.
Don't know much yet, I'm waiting for RotW to see how it performs.

Rumor has it... the EP3 ships will all be Nuetral certs, the Reb's and Imp's get the modified ships. Thing is, I've also heard there's a total of 20 new ships not just the 9 we've seen already.
This is of course all just rumor so it means absolutely nothing. But it is something interseting to chew on.
(Keeps fingers crossed for Lambda....)

9? I've only seen 8...but it does say "This data sheet contains technical information and displays of some of these ships." on the site. I'm guessing we're looking at a two-seater Black Sun ship...maybe a "special" ship for masters of each Privateer squadron (ie. something like a Naboo Fighter for the RSF, something Corellian for CorSec, etc), and perhaps some "wookiee" ships? But I dunno.
The 8 I know of...
Z-95 Mod.
X-Wing Mod.
TIE Fighter Mod.
TIE Advanced Mod.
Special Red Interceptor.
Jedifighter
Grevious' Fighter.
ARC-170.
What did I miss?
