I as under the impression it stood for Player on Board. Can't remember why, but I thought I picked that up off of a Dev post a while back.

That's what the players called it in beta, because they didn't know what it meant.
Houses and other buildings you can walk into are also POBs.

What the hell does POB stand for? I know it concerns multiplayer ships, but what does each letter stand for?
