Thread: Looking Through the New Shipwright Schematics...

Well, I was looking through the new schematics for Shipwright in the CU, and there's some interesting stuff.

At Master Shipwright, there's some new equipment (railgun, reactor, engine, capacitor, shield, blaster, ect.) that says they're for "POB only", which are called "elite". There's a mining-grade reactor and mining-grade capacitor that says they're only for the Y-8, so it looks like the Y-8 is going to be the "mining ship"... wonder what it looks like?
There's some new texture kits only for the B-Wing, A-Wing and ARC-170. There may be others, but I didn't notice them.
There's some "new" ships for Privateers... I found the Hutt Light Fighters (Heavy Mass Variant). I also saw the X-Wing and Z-95 High Mass, and the TIE Fighter High Mass, but I didn't see any of the others at Master Shipwright.
What it looks like to me, seeing as Privateers indeed have modified ships, is that the Episode III ships will be for everyone.

At ace pilot for every faction, we get Y-8 certification. But I didn't see certification for the high mass variants nor the Jedi Starfighter, ARC-170 or the Grevious' Fighter (whatever that's called). Maybe we get certifications for these by doing missions?

Ships have a new "cargo hold" for mining resources, but I can't figure out how to mine resources yet.

And that's all I've discovered so far...

How are you able to test the new content?

Can't really test the new ships and such yet, because I'm not a Master Shipwright nor do I know one. But all these things are on the CU. Just log onto TC-EP3 and look at the Shipwright skill boxes.

My guess is maybe you have to have ROTW for those to show up.

That's what I'm thinking, too, which leads us back to my original question:

The RotW files are being downloaded at this time to people who go on test and are either in the beta or have preordered RotW.

Example: I haven't signed up for the beta but got a huge download when I went on to test last Friday night.

So now I see things that weren't there before and are most likely part of the expansion.
Things like Iron ore Asteroids which you can target, Space mining stations that will buy your ore and also Kashyyyk is now on the Hyperspace map... I wasn't able to jump to Kashyyyk, it said coordinates unknown.
I also couldn't blast any of the Ore asteroids even though I could target them.

Oh and for Debate I found this interesting...
Kashyyyk is not on the travel options menu at this time... That may or may not mean anything since beta for the expansion is just getting underway.

I suppose of the masses in beta tell the devs to keep the travel option out then that means we all will have to launch our ships and hyperspace to Kashyyyk.

Makes sense too since JTL is required for the expansion.

The RotW beta is limited to people who get invited and have an unlock code. The things you see are simply "hooks" for when its active for all. No one without a code should be able to get/use new stuff, just see it as its listed in the common areas.

I never said we could use it yet. I was only stating that it was there.

Wishful thinking, but maybe they might improve crafted component stats, like engines. But probably not.....

I recall reading something on StarWars.Com about some of the new ships will be gotten with Missions, however I've also been playing Resurrection of Evil soooo I can't remember all that much besides "duck down doorway, fire shotgun 50 times".

The railgun sounds kinda neat, tho I don't think it's going to be the Quake 3 one shot one kill Railgun. Most likely a Mass Driver, firing small chunks of rock at targets. As for the new Variants right on! Good to see SOE is putting new stuff in all the time for us pilots.

My understanding from discussions with other people is that the Jedi Starfighter will be a Quest item and the theory goes that the rest will be of regular availability, possibly some hard to get components, but should not be as bad as the Firspray.

These are RUMORS I have heard, so take them with a grain of salt.

I took pot shots at iron asteroids and chased some tie fighters around a mining station yesterday. I hadn't noticed Kashyyk on the map though. Very cool.

I did notice the flashing hotkey icons from test center on my display yesterday as well. So some things are rolling out to lay the groundwork for RotW. I personally am very excited.
