Thread: I am a Rebel Pilot, what is easiest way to master?

I am a rebel pilot just finished tier 1 I was on Tyrena now I am on the Nym missions. I was just wondering what was the easiest way to master it? I have a Y-wing but can only use level 3 parts and they don't seem to work so good but I don't think I can get my z-95 to Lok so what do I do? I have also heard that it is better just to fly around killing npcs to get xp so I was wondering what way is better? Killing random npcs or sticking to the missions. If it is better to kill random npcs I was wondering what a good spot to go to would be to get xp. Thank you my name is Bolpuhr Fortunae on Naritus Server if you want to mail me in-game.

For Tier 2 you should kill things over Lok to max out your xp. For Tier 3 you should kill things over Dantooine, but you only have to get to 200k once, the rest is given automatically. For Tier 4, kill things over Dathomir.

You don't ever need experience for tier 3. Every skillbox is gained for free after you finish each mission.

you also could ask a friend with a multiplayership to take you on a XP run.
with a halfway decent config and some good gunners your friend should be able to take out gunboats at ease.
when you use a crew of 3 ppl (1 pilot 2 gunners) and pop tier5 gunboats everyone gets 11k XP.
another way would be to find someone that disables targets for you. you get full XP once you damage a ship. even if you only hit it once. the problem with that tactic is that you have to bring a low tier ship (with low level equipment) into a high level area. once youre aggroed you pretty much dead. on the other hand - when you go after tier5 gunboats - 2 kills give you enough XP to get a box.

Every pilot I know, and all three of my piloting toons have been granted EVERY tier3 box, simply by completing the missions. All experience earned was kept and saved and applied to my first tier4 box. If you had to earn 200k xp and lost it to get your first box, then you are unique, or weren't paying close attention.I refuse to take bets on which.

You can use your z-95 all the way to tier 3 if you wanted too at least for the 60k per box exp grind.
Now if your in a hurry try this.

Use your z-95 and group with any tier 4 pilot running duty missions.
All you have to do is buzz around and shoot at what ever your partner shoots at. When your partner blows up a ship you get the same exp they do.

Your partner will get all the dropped loot but your going to get your 60k exp you need or cap out in a very short period of time(30 minutes or less).
When you do your tier 2 missions to advance, on some you may want to use the ywing longprobe which lets you fire two guns instead of one and wil be able to take more damage then your z-95.

Thank you. I will try that. I hope I can master pilot soon because I want to get to master and the multi player ship. I have trouble finding a shipwright though to make me the components that I need but I will try. Thank you again.

Thank you everyone. But what should I do with my ships? Use my Y-wing? It is not that great of a ship and I can't get any better components yet. And I don't know if any of my friends have mastered the proffession to be able to get a multiplayer ship. Thanks again.

ywing is actually a decent ship.....talk to a shipwright, they can outfit you with good weapons and shields for your cert level if you're having bad luck with loot. Most SWs only keep tier 4/master level parts on their vendor, but if you have the credits,put in a special order andyou can trick your ywing out =) Also remember to fly at 50% throttle while in combat, this will help maximize your maneuverability.

if you use the Y-Wing or the Z-95 is imo a matter of personal preference.
i used the Z till i became 2-1-1-1 and switched directly to the longprobe (what is an awesome ship imo).

You're probably right. I think I might have earned the first 200k before the first mission.
