Yes, Duty missions do eventually end... the good news is they get longer as you go up in tier.

I remember getting an entire tier2 box's worth of XP from one duty mission. That was a nice touch. :-)

I thought duty missions we're supposed to be open ended missions that continued to update until you ended them. When running my destroy duty missions for my second tier box's (I was 1/2/2/1) I completed a duty mission. After many waves, totaling 70 tier 2 fighters and 15 tier 3 fighters, I got a different system message telling meduty mission complete and a 5k pay. I had to go back out to my contact to get another mission.

Yup duties end or you can end them by leaving.
