Thread: Can't seem to complete the tier 2 missions... help please

Looted parts are generally good, but for shields, engines, reactors, and weapons most shipwright parts will be better. Shop carefully, and try to make friends with a shipwright you trust.
Along with making friends with a shipwright, sell you extra looted parts either to them, or on the bazaar. It's not as quick, but it helps develop a working relationship with a shipwright. Don't know any shipwrights? Put all your stuff on the bazaar and see who buys it. If more than half your stuff gets bought by one person, the odds are that person is a shipwright who's competing in the Firespray RE Part Sweepstakes. Send a /tell or email to him and see if he'd like to work with you.
Also, start saving your best components to be reverse engineered. For example, four level four blasters that have the best mix of stats you can find can typically be RE'd into a near-uber component. Depending on what shipwright you use, they might charge you a few thousand credits for this, or they might not. Again, if you make friends with a shipwright, you'll probably get charged less.

I posted this in the JTL Discussion board originally this morning, but realized it should have come here... LoL! So here it is:
I don't have the luxory of having many friends in game and what friends I do have either don't have JTL or don't really like going up into space. I try hard to do my missions solo, but the tier 2 missions seem to get the best of me every time. I have a decent ship as well as components. My capacitor is over 1000, my shields are over 400 I believe, my armor over 200 or so. My weapon is decent, but I can't seem to kill them fast enough, especially on the hijack mission. Any tips that can help me finish these missions?
it's all about the parts
i never needed anybodies help, thanks to the majic touch, expierience with other starwars games, and good parts
tier 2 weapons can be quite powerful at their tier, somewhere around 800 dmg
i don't think your weapons are good enough if you cannot kill things fast enough for your tier lvl missions
i've never bought a ship component in my life unless i was desperate, and i have soloed all my missions till tier 4
my advice is:
-1) parts: never buy parts, only used looted ones. it's faster, cheeper, and usualy better quality. only buy a player made part IF it is better than your current one AND if you've been trying to loot a good one of that part furiously
also sell parts you don't use to the chassis dealer, much faster and convienent than a player
-2) grinding: find a personal grinding spot. it has to have good xp. creds and parts are of NO concern in grinding spots
-3) creds: save up your creds wisely, don't buya part, then replace it with a better looted one, then replace THAT with a better player made one, etc. waste of money
that is my advice, may the force be with you . . . .
