i know games are incredibly complicated to code and there are all kinds of ways to miss things. but when you purposefully run a tier 2 mission through a cloud of tier 3 ships, the pilot is going to be shot down. every time.
this isn't one particular mission. its a lot of them. i'm doing both privateer and rebel on two different servers. both have the same problem. whenever i'm asked to "escort" someone, i never have a problem with the enemies that spawn as a part of the mission. the're just the right level of challenge. but the clouds of enemies at least 1 tier above me that the waypoints for the escort travel straight through are simply moronic.
honestly. if you know that's where you're going to send a slow moving freighter with a low level pilot as escort, don't make the path go through 7 (yes 7) hostile ships a tier or more above it. just send it someplace else so the only thing we have to deal with on the mission are the enemies that spawn as a part of the mission. wouldn't that make sense?
i've been trying these mission for 3 weeks. i have not been able to succeed once. i've upgraded my ship tremendously since the first time i tried them, but to no avail. the numbers (and the constant spawning of new hostiles) are simply too much.
its simply, route it somewhere else. you put the waypoints in, put them somewhere else. either that or move the spawn points to out of the way locations. i know it makes sense to put a cloud of pirates on a trade route. but put them on 1 or 2 trade routes, and send me to a clear one.
these need to be looked at, because, at the moment, the only thing i'm able to do is destroy missions and they're getting old very fast.

Missions are designed to require help.
JTL is not supposed to be a solo event.

Try to disable the Tier 3's. This should slow down the respawn.

Do something proactive instead of whining here. /bug it every time you fail. include a waypoint. Honestly, most of the worst of these instances have been fixed, when brought to the attention of Development in the proper way. I spend most of my time helping people, and I rarely see this issue crop up as severe as you're painting it. I'm sure there are some simple changes to your style of play that can mitigate your problems.
Disabling foes, more acute spatial awareness (don't stray toward the spawns even in pursuit of mission mobs), and well timed use of special moves (IFF spoof can work wonders), all will help you succeed. You haven't been specific about your squads and at what levels you've run into these issues, but I've seen most of the Neutral and Rebel missions, they're not as hard as you're making it sound.

Its supposed to be a bit hard. They dont want people soloing them. I do any way though.
7 pilot trees done and counting... Just the two nutral trees left to go.

yes arryth, that's why i'm surprised at it. everyone i know has been able to solo their way up, but i don't know anyone that has done my tracks.
odd.

(i did apologize for the rant at the beginning. i imagine i could bug it, though it's not really a bug. just a flaw in the design, and i believe giving constructive criticism here (like suggesting an alternative) is something proactive)

(all i did was disable the mobs. in an escort mission i don't bother with kills. my spatial awareness is excellent. its how i knew the ship i was escorting was heading directly into a spawn of higher level hostiles. and my special moves worked well, but they were overwhelmed.)

once again, sorry for the rant. i just had to vent. if anyone has some helpful hints to get around this, let me know. or if the devs are going to fix this, let me know.

I agree that JTL should be a group thing, but there have been problems in the past with missions spawning to close to static spawns. The one that comes to mind, is we were helping someone with a tier 4 mission, and it spawned right on top of a tier 4 spawn of agressors and interceptors. We had 6 people, and they wiped us quick. They have since fixed the spawn. So... best thing to do is submit a bug report.

To those that say JTL was designed to be a "group" game. I say POO!! While I believe there is some group content, as there should be, there is and hopefullyalwaysbe some content that a smart solo pilotcan enjoy. Case in point, I have two characters on two different servers. They are both currently 4433 CorSec pilots. So what you say?? Well one of them got there strictly SOLO. Being smart and getting good equipment and thinkingthings through. He has been killed so many times that he has had to replace three ships thus far due to decay. It's a hard road but one you can travel. My other characterflew (and stills flys)with one or two wingmen (my adult sons) on just about every mission he has flown. This too is great fun and presents a challenge of it's own. My point? Learn the game, the stategy, skilland the equipment make the difference in the fun. Any idiot can get 10 people to help them escort a freighter through a "bad neighborhood". But it takes a PILOT to think of a way to do it on his own.

I suggested bugging it for the very specific reason that it is a mission development bug, and it is something they have specifically asked us to report in the past. The general profession forums, as much as everyone may want them not to be, aren't a frontline development tool like the bug tool is. I know it seems like a black hole, but its better than drowning in the white noise of the forums, especially since the title of your post is something they have stated they ignore.
