Thread: Outfitting a TIE-Opp?

Could anyone give me a little help, guidelines, examples, whatever... of how to nicely outfit a TIE Oppressor? I got mine early this week and I'm having trouble getting it fitted out. Basically, I can't fit any missiles into it cause I run out of reactor power. I currently have a 14500 reactor (with only 3561 mass) but that leaves me now energy once I put in two lasers and all my other stuff, most of which is fairly average in mass and consumption of power. Thus far all I can figure is getting a higher end reactor (18k energy?) but then my mass will be maxed and I'll have room for missiles still (unless I loot a high energy, low mass reactor). Is this situation common, or am I doing something wrong?

Get a Privateer to program a Reactor Overload Droid Program....that should help you out. Just make sure it is the FIRST droid program you run when you launch because your weapons may be disabled until you do.

BTW...nice reactor!

My Krayt can run, thanks to reactor overload 3, with 2K energy drain over the reactor output of 14.6K, that is with Engine overload 3, cap overload 3 and Weapon overload 3 running as well.

I run the same config in my Oppressor, and it works great. It is the only way I was able to outfit with all 5 hardpoints filled

Why even bother with missles? Save the mass and energy and just get bigger guns. Missles are about useless for PvE, and too easy for your opponent to throw off in PvP, space bombs and even mark 4 protons are easy to throw off, mark 3 image recs don't do enough damage.

Because it is mostly my ship for helping Tier 3, and the bigger gunboats in the tier 3 go down so easy to missiles.

Missles may not be all that and a bag of chips, but they are fun
What i find intresting is how the T/O is the one starship that has the highest missle payload capcity.

if only we had the rebel reload ships

Well, wonder what will happen once they finally fix Weapon overload 3... maybe I will have to get a bigger reactor by then.
