Thread: Tier 0 Freelancer (Corsec) Mission -- I'm stuck

Hello, there.
I'm stuck on a Tier 0 mission (I know, it's humiliating) and I can't seem to get around this thing. It's the one where I'm supposed to kill an Eliminator (A-Wing, Tier 2) in my little starter ship.
It took me about the third or fourth try to figure out that I could destroy his escort, one ship at a time. Okay, no problem. Takes a bit of time, but I'm there. Unfortunately, a few minutes after I destroy his escort (and after I'm able to get his shields as low as 84%, sometimes), he splits. Vanishes. WOOSH. And I'm all alone in space with my joystick in my hand.
Usually when he does this (as in, when he does this without my destroying his escort), I get an update on his position from Corsec. Not so after I destroy his escort. He's just gone.
Additionally, I have doubts that I can kill him at all with this ship and these weapons. However, I did find another Eliminator in space while I was floating around looking for him, and I was able to kill that one. So it could be that I need to continue to go at him until I get lucky.
Alternatively, could anyone supply me with this pirate's home address, so I can show up there and give him a Wookiee smack-down with my stick?
I've deleted the mission and reaccepted it four times so far ... any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, please mention what server you are on. If you are on Bloodfin give me a /tell.

I'm on Corbantis server.
I actually did try disabling the escort ... but strangely, the disabled ships end up exploding on their own after a few minutes and I'm left with the same result.

Doesnt sound right to me. Did that mission with no problems on Bloodfin about 4 nights ago.... to be honest I cant rememebr in detail what I did but just grab a tier 4 mate and bumble on up get him to disable the ships then you blow them up.

Giving this a single bump out of desperation ... then I'll let the thread slip away and probably report it as a bug or something.

Ok do several things. First upgrade your weapons to the best you can fit into the ship, use looted wepons. Second try to upgrade your engine. Third get a driod and try to find an imp level 1 wepon overloed program and use it in conjunction with reator overloed and cap overload.
How to kill an A-Wing: First, set your engines to approx 1/2 speed, you get the best maneuverability that way. Then by using '[' or ']' buttons target his engines, the engines wont go down untill both his shields and armor are at 50%. Use the 'turret' method by going slower around 1/2 your speed and just turn your craft like a turret. Last, the targeting reticle is not correct, always aim just beind the targeting reticle for faster fighters.

Post in your severs forum that you need some help, a single helper should be enough to destroy it.
Also, I suggest you try changing the equipment in your ship for some better damage blasters, faster engines etc.

With the loot nerf I restarted on a different server. My starter ship was better then my looted components all the way to tier 2.
