I am an RSF Ace and recently went from neutral to rebel if that makes a difference.
I have just launched my JSF into space and when I fire my weapon it says:
"Your weapon is disabled"
"Your weapon is disabled"
... because they are both firing at once. When I select "Ship details", there is a padlock next to all my ship parts except the armor. There is also another symbol next to most of them, but I cant make out what it is.
These are pretty much all new parts and nothing appears to be damaged as the space station has nothing to fix.
When I load a droid command it says "DISABLED" and proceeds to tell me that my droid interface is disabled.
This is my 5th pilot profession and I have never come across this to date.
Anyone know what I might be doing or not doing?
Thankyou

Sounds like a reactor problem. Are you sure you are pumping out enough power to keep the ship ticking over? Youc an be a little "in the red" in space (and Reactor OL helps compensate for this), but if you have too little power to start with you will not be able to fire up the droid interface to get it all working.

You might be right. I am using a Level 6 droid with level 4 programs.
Perhaps I am overburdening the reactor. The symbols seem to come and go now and then when I run the first program, repair etc just to test.

You're overdrawing the reactor - try getting a low-grade program like Reactor Overload 2 and running it before launching.
Also, analyze your weapons' drains - if they're both crafted, chances are you're running about 23-2500x2, possibly more. Couple that with a crafted engine's drain and you can overdraw pretty easily.

If you are running numerous programs, run reactor overload first.
Also, running v4 is bad unless you are going into deepspace as it totally screws the components. If they are heavily decayed and you run OL4, it may disable them (not tested myself to know for sure).
