I just completed my Black Squadron ace profession and didnt get a badge.

Are pilot badges turned off at the moment for some reason?

Will I get it automatically when they are turned on or should I regrind it?

Badges aren't turned off, but if you're able to respec either via the CU stuff still or due to possession of the token respec, you won't be able to get the mastery badges you've earned until whichever or both of these abilities has been removed. So if you've got your CU respec still, wait it out (or have a CSR turn it off if you're in perma-respec); if you've got the token respec and really want or need that badge, use it up.

Annoying and unfair considering pilot professions have nothing to do with the respec process, I know, but that's where we stand right now.

I think he dropped the mastery, then noticed the missing badge. You can try getting a CSR to give it to you, but it's REALLY difficult without the mastery on-hand. Try pointing out your Ace items, it just might help...

bah i was gonna try getting another ace badge but dont want to use my token respec

I fixed this by wasting my token respec since I am happy with what I have and then logged out - logged back in and I got my badge.

Really? I started a new account on June 11th and have mastered Pistoleer and Smuggler since then with no badges given for those professions. The only respec I have is the Token one... was gonna save that for sometime in the future if I ever get tired of something in my current template.

But you are saying I will never get the badges for what I master UNTIL I used of the token respec? That kinda sucks.

So if I respec with the token and say drop pistoleer for BH, would I never get the pistoleer badge for actually earning that profession?
