Can anyone recommend a good spot to grind out Imperial pilot...I did Smugglers at Linear Miasma but I haven't found a nice concentration of fairly docile rebel ships..

Grinding for what purpose? If you just mean to get the xp for skill boxes then Duty missions are always fine. Destroy missions are fine for that, takes a while on the Tier 4 boxes, but really it would most likely take longer on wild spawns.
