Thread: Crafting the Y-8

I know we can't craft these, however can the powers at be let us craft them? The bugged Y-8 quest is the main reason, but other reasons for wanting this is they might be a good selling item. Ther other reason is that eventually, maybe many many months down the road, most of everyones(that like them and use them regularly) chassis will have decayed to the minimum value. Eh, just my 2 cents, but it would be nice for us shipwrights.

hehe, while i'm on the subject of crafting quest reward items...imagine the killing we would make on crafting JSF chassis =p.

What in the world do you plan to do with your Y-8 that would cause the chassis to decay?

god no... JSF really would be the composite in space then. The fact that it is non craftable keeps it halfway under control.

I don't think any of the ships should have been rewards from the beginning. Schematics maybe, but not the ships. Its crap that they cut all crafters, not just shipwrights, out of ROTW so badly.

As a shipwright, I'm glad to see fewer chassises. They're a waste to craft. The cpru (credits per resource unit) return on a chassis so so much lower than on other components. They take way too many resources, and are generally annoying to craft. I'm much happier not having to worry about making them.

You reach a point of diminishing returns with chassis being uncraftable. With chassis decay as brutal as it is for a sub-Master pilot, you're basically telling people the certs don't matter, don't fly them till you master or you're pushing them quickly out of the system. Which gates them out of most PvP where masters dominate in reward ships for which they have unlimited "Get Out Of Decay" cards.

they didn't cut shipwrights out... there are tons of new conponents that are SW crafted (all of the POB only stuff and the mining stuff... plus the new textures) that is not including three new chassis. they just don't get to craft the quest ships since they wanted to limit those. sure they could have done schematics but then they would end up like the firespray but more expensive since they aren't near worthless in combat.

I am all for helping out the shipwrights, but claiming to be cut out of the RotW stuff just because you can't craft7 of the 10 new chasis just doesn't make sense.

its nice you can do a mission to get one...but at the same time it would be nice for my shipwright to be able to craft one.

My guild is currently wanting a Y-8 but hey hey none for sale and the quest is undoable.

I can buy any one of the 450 bel-22's for sale on my server but why do that when the jedi friends bring in like 10 a week lol.

For chassis i allmost never craft for sale i craft for personal and guild use.
