Great guys, appreciate comments. Lemme edit my post now.

POLL: What doYOU fly and why???? Thanks.

I know that everyone will probably have his favorite but lemm know what you think. I have a jsf now and I'm wondering if I should start spending big bucks to get it equipped with RE stuff or just wait till I hit master to get a different ship and then go crazy. So lemme know which is your favrite please.

The best fighter in the game is the one flown by a well practiced pilot. No ship will give you situational awareness you do not have, or protect you from enemies you do not know how to beat.

Given the nature of your posts recently, I have to suggest the following to you:

There is no walk-through for being atop notchpilot. You only pick this up through practice. I've seen Ace pilots waste me in Kimogilas, I've seen some bumbling incompetents learn the hard way that the JSF is not the "I WIN" button many believe it to be. Anything we say here would simply be suggestive of what we found to work for us.

Everyone here would give you a slightly different answer to the questions you ask, and potentially, everyone of us is right.

The bottom line is, the only way to answer your question is to do it like we've done since we started. Get in a ship, work it till it hurts, and learn what suits your style. Its the only way you will know for sure.

It also has alot to do with your style of piloting. If you prefer raw firepower and don't really care about being fast and maneuverable, then wait till you master to buy you top of the line parts (although if you have the money you should always use the best parts you can find.) If you prefer a light fast fighter... then you will want to go with one of the tier 4 ships (a-wing/TIE adv./JSF/Bel-22/Vaksai/RG TIE) or one of the heavy starter ships. every ship has trade offs, so it is best to pick the one that fits your style.

I couldn't put that better myself.

Honestly, ship performance wise, the ships you can fly once you hit ace are crap compared to the JSF,B-22,RGI and the other fatcions light fighters. Even the new heavy varients of the noob fighters are way better than the ace ships. But they are all junk if you can't fly welland select good components and dont use a droid/Flight computer.

Anything my master shipwright can produce and kill effectively with.

Heavy tie/scyk/z96 is fun but lacks the firepower without a nice RE'd weapon. (with a nice launcher and a good weapon its doable) If you can find a fast high damage weapon to squeeze in it with .600 plus on armor and shields. that would be best.

Without going RE youll want high mass and good spd and turning.

the Heavy xwing is a nasty little bugger as is the ARC if you got friends to go with you.

I just load out my ships with mark IV weapons with .270 speed and let the good time roll. weapons/cap overload 3 and you got a never ending machine gun.

It all boils down to if your flying alone or in a group. In a group with people who have heavy hitters go for speed. The heavy bomber types will need good dogfighter supporters.

With a heavy variant and a nice mark IV engine with high speed ovlerloaded you can hang on the ass of any tier 4/5 ship.

Who you calling a Reb!? That's Colonel to you son!

I fly my Heavy TIE right now and love it. Great handling and speed, nice mass, only one gun slot but I put a L10 RE'd weapon in, so it's hardly lacking in firepower.

Plus...I'm and Imperial and it's a TIE, what else could you want?

Yeah, getting multiweapon ships as an Imp is a pain. I think that's why I like my X-wing so much. After doing one and a half Imp squadrons in a TIE Fighter (Heavy for most of that), and then using a Heavy Z-95 all the way to 4333 in Rebel, going from 1 gun to 3 was like a slice of heaven.

I fly a Firespray 100% of the time that I PvP and probably 90% of the time that I PvE. The other 10% of the PvE time I use a Krayt. Most people think I'm an idiot for using the Firespray in PvP since its such a huge target, but I've managed to keep it competetive, even against ROTW fighters, by REing extremely high quality components for everything in the ship.

I'll attest that Starscream is pretty darn good in that thing. Still makes a nice boom when it goes up though.

As for the person who said that RotW ships are default better than Master lvl ships- p'shaw.

As for me? I fly anything. No, really.

The A-Wing is definitely my ship of choice. I've used it at any chance possible in every Star Wars game. There is just something about it...

Wow, not many privateers here. I tend to switch between my Vaksai and my Rihkxyrk. I'll probably replace the Rihk with a Krayt once I get Ace. I just love heavy ships. I haven't had the chance to try PvP yet, but any time an NPC tries to joust me in my Rihk they're dead before they get within 100m, tier 5's included.
