Thread: Logging off in space?

Hello,
I spend a lot of time in space but I am also working to my goal of becomming a Jedi. I was wondering if it was safe to log off in space.
What happens to my toon when I log off inside my YT-1300 in orbit over Naboo?
Is it safe?
Will it immmediately put me on the planet where for a few minutes some BH can come by and kill me while I am no longer online?

It wouldn't happen immediately, when I lose connection I'm still in space if I can log in again in time. If you STAY logged out, you'll log in again on the ground, though.

You're better off logging out at your house. I do wish we could log out inside POB ships and log back in still inside them. It kind of ruins the effect of living on your ship when you get pitched out to a starport everytime you log in.

When you log out in space, you stay there until you log back in, although youre not physically there the server remembers youre there. When you log in you will actually log into space, then you will auto-log to the ground again without being able to do anything.

You end up at the Starport that you originally launched from. I have had to log out due to emergencies in both Kessel and DS, and I ended up in Theed where i launched from

I have actually found a trick that might get you to log in "in flight"
times when I had to make a quick logoff and I was in kessel I would punch in a hyper for tat and log, then when I logged back in, flying over tat droid programs STILL RUNNING
need to test it more, only have done it twice, wasn't really on purpose, but it's worth further testing

Aye, hypering and logging off can work, if you time it right. I do it with my Y8 (which i live in) so i dont have to deal with the ground.

kind of an interesting effect, you float in space for a few seconds then load onto the ground
its useful to a jedi if you log out in a sorrosub, anything else could get shot out fromunder you while the server takes a few minuts to remove you from the game space(this happend to me once, was dumb and logged out in kessel in my ykl)
