This is shaping up to be a BIG hidrance on my plans for remastering Privateer. I need to take out 30 Imperials in the Kessel System. No problem, right? Well I can only attack Rebels, and I can't harm Imperials.

Is this a common problem?

My faction is currently -300 Rebel, 0 Imperial, so I feel like that might be the cause of this.

RSF pilots cannot attack imperials, and their mission sends you to attack rebels

If you're not in RSF, Are you declared as an Imperial?

Added: Has your current Chassis EVER been to Deep Space? Without being redeeded? If so, go land, unequip ALL of your ship's components, redeed the ship, regenerate the ship from the deed, reinstall all the components, and try again.

I tested this once to see if you could manage to bug yourself into getting opposite-faction FP. If you're flying a ship that hasn't been redeeded, going overt STILL won't let you attack what you're supposed to be able to, but you get the normal FP for kills. It leads to being able to get FP when not of a faction...
