Thread: Some advice...help!!

Ok this is going to sound very silly........ but
I am workig on the freelance Smuggler pilot out of Jabba palace...... got the first mission to recover stolen parts from a ship..
Destroyed the escorting ships..... and disable the ship.............. but no idea what to do next......
look through commands but cant see anything that i need to now.......
any advice on how to complete this mission. i know its something simple, maybe I am having a mad sat morning

Try docking which works by pressing "u" or fly really really close, because sometimes you need to launch an assault droid which is done by flying past really close.

thx for ur reply mate
tried docking ship does not allow u to dock...... and be right close to the ship for 10mins nowt happens..
done this mission 3 times now.....as got bored and destroyed the ship 
but need to complete so i can get trained on the next box......

I've just had difficulty with that mission too.
When you target the transport, pres [ or ] to cycle through the systems to target on that ship. Select the engines and shoot until engines are disabled.

Yup you need to disable the ship and use the the inspect hotkey and then dock with it. These two hotkeys are in your command & abilities box. I also have change one of my bindings on my joystick to the "target next under rectile" this will allow you to target anything that is under your crosshairs.

When in doubt, try to inspect first and then try to dock. There are missions for every squadron that have fairly obtuse mission goals. Usually some combination of disabling, inpsecting or docking is required.
My favorite one is the "assault droid" rebel mission. I have had six people ask me if they need to buy an assault droid to complete the mission. The first time I did it, I wondered the same thing myself...
