Ok, this is kind of long.

I got to Tier 3, did the mission to get access to Jabba's Palace (end of Tier 2). All good. Got into Jabba's Palace (did the TP ages ago, plus have +ve Jabba faction - always try to keep +ve Jabba faction on the hope that one day we can run serious missions for him ). Anyway, got into Jabba's Palace, talked to Beissa the Rodian Jabba's Pilot trainer and got the first mission for Tier 3.

It involves getting back Jabba's trust by beating up on the Valarians you worked for in Tier 2. It also involves stealing back a shipment of weapons. This begins in the Yavin system. So I go to the Yavin system, rendevous with the freighter carrying the weapons and disable the engines, as per quest log. All fine and dandy. There were a couple of Tier 3 Valarian ships escorting the freighter but I wasnt concerned with them to begin with. After disabling the freighter, I turned my attention to the Valarian escorts. I began to attack one and noticed how I was doing absolutely no damage, even though I knew I was hitting them, plus I have some pretty powerful guns. It was also at this point after being hit with a couple of missiles that I noticed I too was taking zero damage. I thought it was a bit wierd. Anyway, the mission told me to now escort the freighter out of the system. So I did, more Valarians spawned, but I couldnt damage them, and they couldnt damage me. Some of them wouldnt even attack me and after a while just left. By the time the freighter was ready to leave the system, the only attacking craft left were the original escorting ones. Anyway, that part of the mission was a success, and I thought cool, I've stumbled across God mode in space, LOL.

The next part of the mission was where I learnt God mode was not so great. The next part involved destroying the Valarian replacement and the bomber escort. I flew to the waypoint, and there they were. I proceeded to attack, again not doing any damage. And, in fact, neither did they even try to attack me. They just flew off, and my mission failed!?

So what is wrong and what should I do?

Several suggestions have already been made:

A. By the good people of Bria Pilot's Club:

1. I have somehow been tagged as a Valarian, how or why not known.

2. Redeed ship, and try again.

3. Get a friend to go up and kill the Valarians for you. (However, this may not solve my invulnerability problem)

4. Act as decoy for corvette mission (hehe had to add that one in )

B. By CSR, when ticketed:

1. Submit detailed bug report.

2. Try to retake mission from Beissa.

Well, today I went back to Mos Eisley and spoke to Shamdon Kree (Valarian and pilot trainer for Tier 2 in the Lucky Despot). She said, "So how did it go?" My choices for response were, "No problem", and one other of similar nature. I didnt respond and chose Stop Conversing (I thought this sounded suspiciously like the reponse she made on the last mission for Tier 2). I then went to the cantina and spoke to the big guy there (forget name). He said now I need to go to Jabba's Palace and speak to Beissa. [Note. I didnt do this after initially completing Tier 2, I went straight to Beissa]. I havent yet spoken to Beissa again, as I'd like to get opinions here first.

In addition, this may or may not be a factor, when I was Tier 2 I took a mission from the Tatooine space station that was a mission for Lady Valarian (it even shows up under a separate entry in the Quest Log under Lady Valarian). The mission involved first docking with smuggler in Tat space and killing a few escorts. Then going to Yavin for rendevous with smuggler, however, the Yavin space part was too hard for me solo, there were a half dozen or more Tier 4 ships that quickly killed me. So I didnt finish it nor bother doing any more about it. This may be influencing my status, but I'm doubtful as the guy at the Tat space station is offering it again, when I see what work there is.

Anyway, any and all advice is sincerely requested.

Ok, well an update to my headache.

I tried to get the mission again from Beissa. Got it, tried it, and same problem. Tried again, same problem. Redeeded ship, tried again, same problem.

Now I am really stuffed.

What can I do?

Wow, that's really weird. My Valarian FP is in the positive, and my Jabba is -5000, but I managed to get through the mission wihtout any trouble. I wish I had some suggestion to make, but I really can't think of much. Maybe you could try killing a few Valarians on the ground to make sure your Valarian FP isn't too high. Otherwise, I really have no idea.

Update:

Managed to figure out the problem. I hadnt gone to Shamdon Kree the Valarian piliot trainer after the lst mission before beginning Tier 3. Seems I was to eager to begin Tier 3 hehe. So I was still effectively working for Valarian. Anyway, I talked to Shamdon got my rewrd and everything worked out. However, it is strange that I could begin Tier 3 from Jabba's without properly 'finishing' Tier 2!?

Good job figuring that one out. You may want to report that as a bug again and include the info you figured out. Maybe they can prevent others from sharing your headache.
