OK, you just finished a run in kessel. You're HEVILY loaded with looted ship parts. How do you detirmine what to keep!? Sure you can hand everything to a Shipwright friend and have it improved, but you may have just used up a good part coupled with junk = ...an OKish RE'd component.

So, what do you set aside a s a keeper? and why?

What I do is find the best parts I can (NONREed) and put them on my ship. Then I collect EVERYTHING! Because sometimes you will get crap! and Sometimes you will get a part with 1 good stat and all the rest will be crap. Once I've maxed my ship out on nonREed stuff I go through every catagory and RE the stuff with ALL the other best stuff I've got (its tedius to look at each stat individualy to find out whats the best numbers on that stat), then I RE the stuff and put it back on my ship. Find better components to use( sense i just freed up some mass from REing). when ive maxed the mass out again with the better components (Sometimes 1 new component will remax the mass out), I RE those/that also. Been doing this for a while now. Ive got a very fast A-wing now with very nice turning abilities, a REed Level 8 gun on it with 3800 damage and a level 8 shield on my A-wing with 2555 front and back shields and a 14.98 recharge rate. Also my level one, 498 mass, 14.98 droid speedDI, doesn't hurt either.....

As a general rule, even numbered booasters and capacitors are the ones to keep. Odd numbered ones are usually junk.

I keep all of it. Then again, I have a vendor to store it. Shipwrights love to RE things, and the more you have, the more chances for them to get a Firespray disc.

Depends what you're tryin to outfit....for privateers with lots of mass, you may wanna hold on to higher end components...imps conversely may wanna stock up on good lower tier stuff. Generally, an RE reward item is going to be better than anything else in terms of effect vs mass, so I hold on to all my Tier 6 engines, Tier 8 guns (actually I hold on to anything 6-10, REing anything with a Hoersch-Kessler Scorcher series gun is gonna give you a great weapon for its mass) (imps will want tier 7 to go with your boltdriver - or if you're on Lowca sell it to me! i need one! ) Tier 8 shields, Tier 4 boosters, and I find tier 4 capacitors are all you ever need on single player ships

Remember that you're probably only looking to improve mass and maybe 2 to 4 stats on your reward item, since the reward items often have better stats than anything that drops looted at that level, so you'll only need to hang on to 2 Tier 8 shields (one with very low mass, one with very high recharge) or 4 tier 6 engines (1 for low mass, 1 for high Y P and R) etc etc, and then once you feel you have good enough components, find some filler parts on the bazaar for the rest and have it REd
