I am a 1/1/1/1 Freelance Pilot looking for some fast XP. Should I do the missions for Shamdon or should I got out in a certain space zone and wildly attack anything that moves? Any little tips or tricks that I should know about?

Thank you in advance,

Yaurra

Find an ace...tell them you want to be a gunner...you'll get your xp.

Fastest xp....kill stuff.

FYI fastest xps doesnt make you a better pilot, so long as you're aware of that. If this is your second or third character going up in pilot, playing ridealong is fine, but you'll learn less that way.

Theres no real inherent bonus to "grinding" up pilot...none of the pilot specials except for IFF are really used much, and sure you get better ships and certs at higher levels, but the enemies get tougher along with you so its a push. Not like the ground game where master gets better weapons and specials and speed and defense mods.

The only way to become a better pilot is, well......to become a better pilot

The reason I want to master is for certain ships.

no ship is so cool that you dont need skills to fly it.....even the POB ships

if all you want is a ship to cruise around with your buds in, what about your yacht?

How much do gunships give for XP?

Also, how would I go about finding an Ace? Do people usually pay them to help disable ships?

Fastest way to gain XP AND be a better pilot is to do your tier specific duty mission. You'll learn how to fly your ship and gain XP.

Indeed. Nothing gets you more experience in a ship than duty missions (flying andpilot xp).

I once held a pilot's hand throughout the RSF tree and he turned out ot be an awful pilot. At master, he didnt know what iff scramble was, nor did he have a flight computer. I will never do that again.

However, if you are familiar enough with your ship, or if this is the second time you are mastering a tree, then in all honesty duty missions would be my suggestion. You know you have enemies coming and you know where they are, so you dont have to go searching. plus its not as monotonous as standing in a static spawn.

If you already mastered and are trying to get a badge in the same faction, I would not look down on any pilot who gets a friendly fellow who still has master to help get through those horrendous grind sessions. After all, you already paid your dues and just want the badges of the other squadrons. My suggestion was just for those who don't have badges yet for their current faction choice.
