Thread: Astromech Question from a Droid Engineer
- He was not certed to use the droid.----Not the case as I made a level 1 droid and he has Rebel 1/1/1/1 I made level one as I was not certain of his Rating, did not want to over rate it on him.
- His ship did not have the abilty to hold a droid.---Checked the FAQ...He flies a z-95 should be good to go.
- He did not have the interface installed.---Made certain of that as soon as I got the tell with his difficulty. Went over the useage, and loading. Everything seemed fine.
- Droid Programs not installed.---Walked him through the process. No problems.
- The droid would not load into the slot.My thoughts on this are.
- Does the droid being loaded do as other parts do and list (Loaded) ?
- Does the droid move in the management screen windowslike other parts do when I load them?
- Do these two thngs NOT happen and the droid programs are only available once you acess them via the Ctrl-A Astromech sub-menu?
I'm drawing a blank folks and hope that you can help me out. I couldn't find the answers to this in either the Droid Engineering or Pilot FAQ's so I'm cross posting this in the hopes that I can get my customer what he asked me for.
Thanks for any help you can offer me.
is it a flt astro droid or just a ground r2 droid? My old R2 droid will not take space doid commands. I had to by an astro mech for space.
I wonder if this is the issue?
Thanks for the responses.
- Because I didn't know of his Pilot standing I didn't experiment on the data module for the exact reason you mentioned. In either event it he would be certedto use a level 2 astromech with Rebel Pilot xxx1 ----From the FAQ's and looking at the Alliance Pilot skills window.
- I made the droid with a level 1 data module, it was a R-5 model. The droid took all of the programs properly, and just would not load into the Droid slot in the management window.
Thanks again.

I know this from personal experince.
Ah, Thank you all again folks. ![]()
I owe you all a beer or a can of soda for minors.
This will make me happy and my friend less confused. I will post this information over to the Droid Engineer forums so that it can be added to the updated FAQ there.
Perhaps it should be added to the Pilot one as well? I'll make a post to that thread so that other new pilots don't have the same issue.
