Thread: Do more pilots spend time in Space than on the Ground?

It's funny, I no longer really play the ground game.. I'm a Master BH, Master Pistoleer and Combat Medic 0004 along with Force Sensitive Skills and Black Epsilon Ace Pilot...

Jump to Light Speed is so much more fun. I even stopped hunting Jedi Marks and the Elite BH Loot, because frankly I don't care, I'd rather be up in my TIE Advanced blasting Rebel Gunboats!

Now my Scout Trooper and Shock Trooper Armor are just decorations in my Decimator. I don't remember the last time I wore them. I wear some BE Clothing just for kicks, 3 basic weapons, and a backpack! I try to keep my inventory low so that I can fill it with all the cool loot from space.

It seems to me that the Space Game is so much more fun. You can group if you want to or go solo. You can play for only 30 minutes or spend all day up there. You can ignore spam. In space you can hear no one spam That and you can put your /afk message, I'm up in space will get back to you when I'm on the ground.

I love it. Getting to Ace it was all about ROTW ships such as the B-22. Post Ace, it's trying to stuff as much as you can in a TIE Advanced. My next project is to make a really fast and deadly TIE Interceptor. There's so much loot to look for and it can be surprising. I found a 40K+ reactor the other day that made my eyes pop! I'm still trying to find enough engines for a nice RE Level 6 for the TIE Interceptor. There's so much more to find.

Also, Pilots are much friendlier and helpful than other professions. Sure you can do a pickup group to do Bol hunting but that's just a pick up group. And grinding Bols is just boring.

Thank goodness that none of the pilot skills transfer over to Force Sensitive Skills! This is the greatest thing going for Jump to Light Speed. As there is no more grind after getting Ace. It's now about perfecting your ship and your technique. Which is what mastery should be all about. Master a Ground Profession and evenutally you'll be forced to grind the force grind. Grind rewarded by more grind. JTL is not about that. It's about mastering technique, style and equipment post Master.

That and no more nerf calls. I don't hear Nerf Bomber Strike. Nerf Vampiric Repair, etc... It is just great. Yes there's the usual debate about ROTW ships, but that's about it.

So I'm glad I'm here in this community talking about the virtues of TIE Advanced vs. A-Wing.

Up until about a week ago I had no real incentive to do anything but fly. Two friends just came back to the game and with a little bigger grp we are making plans to do more on the ground. But I am NOT giving up my stick time.

I too have all but abandoned the ground game....

repec'ing to a SW is what actually got me back on the ground.

used to I would go into space, fill my inventory with parts from space, land, empty inventory and repeat

I LOVE the ground. That's where they keep those bazaar terminals, that I can use to find more good stuff for my ship. They also keep starports there, and...oh, yeah those big empty boxes in which you can store all your unused components and uh...

I dunno, I guess there are probably other uses for it.

It depends. Some days I'll be in space constantly, other days on the ground all day.

There's a ground game? Is it some kind of expansion to JTLS? . But seriously, I spend most of my time in space and when on the ground, its doing somthing space related like chatting to fellow pilots, taking part in a space mission briefing or hunting for parts on the vendor. I do grind my character on the ground occasionally, but I've only really looked into it as of late. Oh, I do love to roleplay though.

Ya me too, I hit the groud to swap part to my SW alt. Reload my ordanance and CM, logout/login, buy another R5, all sorts of stuff.

I tend to hit "launch ship" before I get any tells most of the time.

New post subject to follow....

I kind of like the ground game... not as muchh as I like flying, but I do like. Then again I don't PvP on the ground. So I don't get all the "j33d3y3 r 1337" crap. I mostly just do quests(solo orguild group)and the occationalxp hunt with the guild (I am pretty much done grinding since I don't want to be a jedi). I'm not much of a roleplayer so I tend to stick with guildmates and people I know.

I like the ground game to a point. Not the attitudes that are there and the "I pwn yer face with my jedi that took me 6 months to grind." But i'm in the PvP portion of my guild and will get out there in some big battles and have fun. I love concussion shot.. and i love area concussion shot. Nothing like hitting a group of 8 and walking by them waving and smiling the whole time going neener neener neener. Then hitting the SP and launching/traveling to escape.

But space is where I spend the majority of my time. Nothing is more satisfying then killing a JSF in an xwing. Makes me feel all warm inside.

I spend most of time in space. Aside from when i'm playing my Chef/looking for parts on the Bazaar/Helping friends with ground missions i'm normally up there hunting loot.

The ground game is alot less interesting once you get into space i think. The problem is very few people just don't try it or give up because they aren't uber straight away.

Well, the Chef business comes first, then my starting SW business (with the idea that I can RE things I want myself so I can get the gun/engine/booster effects that I want), then deciding to either do some ground PvP or (the meager) GCW base taking content out there, then if none of that's going on, I'll roll into space and try hard to get a nasty case of wrist cancer from my joystick while loot whoring and searching for the mystical BS Ace Helmet that is going to go in my house in a little pilot alcove. Oh, I almost forgot the biggest endgame activity of all....House decorating!

In all fairness, we do have regular discussions about the RotW ships, WO3 and epulse3.

But yeah, seems like you've got infected with the JTL virus, welcome to the club.

In the beginning, I spent most of my time in space. Since joining my guild, I have found a lot of things to like about the ground game. So I do a lot of stuff with my guild, like the vette and DWB. I have also been spending a lot of time grinding my alt to something combat capable. Thatand crafting are the only things that keep me on the ground.

I like the solitude of the space game in that you can solo just about everything if you have the chops. I'm just getting into PvP in this game, both on the ground and in space. I suck at both atm, but it's all in fun.

As a MSW, I admit I get a certain kick out of people buying my stuff, then owning me with it in PvP.
