I have not done one of these in a long time. But I thought I would share

I run WO3, EO4, CO4, and some others. I want to get another borstel RE'd to about 24K mass (have the ones I need, just 5 more filler now) so I can run better armor. But its a beast and a lot of fun to fly

Booster: L2 Junk Loot: Just for cruising
Wingtips: L7 Crafted Blasters, .26/.27 refire, 26.0/27.3 energy per shot, 1500-2550 damage (approx.), .48 vs shields armor (approx)
Mid-Wing: L8 Incom Tri-Cannon RE: Average stats for an Incom, about 24k mass

My Adv. X has much further go. Mine still relies heavily on crafted parts, since most of my RE projects are in their early stages. I'll have an RE8 or 10 engine....one of these days. At least I have a Kuat R-CTZ reactor to handle EO4. My selection of quickshot guns at least makes a good killbox for swatting JSFs.

My heavy-x is for pve only, so it's all about damage damage damage.


L7 protect-o based shield, L8 engine, 10/10/8 RE guns that go "BOOM BLAM bang"

That reactor is sick! I could make my Heavy X so mean if I had one like that. My biggest issue is energy consumption. I can't run any Overload 4's without stalling out my systems. Bah.

I seem to have really bad luck when it comes to lootings good components.

Nice work Monsofo. With only a 1200 drain on that engine, you should have no energy problems if you ran RO4 with a crafted level 1 reactor with 12.5k energy. I am not even accounting for WO3 in there. With no WO3, you need 23820 energy. 23820/1.9=12536. A high quality mark I can reach that. Mark II or REd L2 if you cannot find a >90% energy reactor.

Also, your booster should say (reward). Only a tier-2 reward booster yields a level 4 booster like that. Personally, I stick to crafted Mark I or II boosters myself. You are getting 14 seconds of boost. A Mark I booster with overcharger, all points into consumption then energy, yields about 14.5 seconds of boost at around 26 speed for only 1k mass.

The cap can be better, but that one is really good.

I wish I had that engine. I need to do a L10 engine and another L8 blaster to finish my heavy X.

I seldom post my own ship loadouts, but that reactor drain on that engine made me jealous.

Well, according to my calculations, ***in theory*** it should be possible to load up an advanced x-wing with:

3 level 10 guns
level 8 reward shield
prenerf level 1 DI
prenerf level 6 reward engine
Level 9 missle launcher of choice
level 4 capacitor
level 4 booster
level 2 REd reactor or Mark I or II crafted (1500 - 3000)

and still have a good 7-10k mass for armor. Remember, this is theory only, and would require the absolute lowest mass components you could possibly get your hands on. The *exceptional* stuff, like 40k mass guns before RE. This is done using the mass values reported by spaceloot.com (great site).

If I saw anyone and knew they had that kind of loadout, I would be afraid. Very afraid.

Why? 3 L6's is a one hit kill in PvP. 3 L10's is just overkill. Fear 3 L6's with L10 engine, not the other way around.

I use a similar load-out but just for PvE -


3 x Level 10 RE'd based on ArMek Ion Canons all 0.8/0.8 with 4400, 4750 and 5K max damage <3

Level 8 Re'd reward Shield

Level 6 Re'd pre-nerf reward Engine

Level 6 Re'd Capacitor

Level 4 Re'd reward Booster

Level 1 Re'd pre-nerf DI

Level 3 Re'd Reactor


That's about all i can fit in and I can't check most of the stats as I'm at work, but most of these parts (except the guns)are my second best as I juggle about 8 ships worth of good components between Imp, Reb and Neutral Master pilot toons. Working on a better pre-nerf reward engine atm, but I'm having trouble getting the mass below 8400 and the PYR over 71 post RE


I'll see if I can shift around my better parts and see what I can come up with - for PvP I replacethe level 10's with Re'd Borstels and throw in a level 10 engine with 100 speed and80+PYR, add CM's, Missiles andthick armourto flavour

Well, we also have to think of the future, when someone might be having fun in a POB ship with the newly competitive POB components. I don't think that 3 level 6s would necessarily be a one hit kill anymore, though I could be wrong. I forget the stats of the shields, but I do remember the armor being something like 7.7k...

Yup, my advanced Xwing load out will be


lvl 10 engine with 100+ speed 80+ YPRs (i have this, movie look style)


lvl 8 shield (i have this)


2 lvl 9 REed blasters (based around the Rendili advanced for movie look style and blue lasers, only have 1)


1 lvl 7 Reed blaster (again based around a rendili, not movie look, but its the inner weapon, and blue lasers, i have this)


lvl 4 REed booster (have one, but working on others)


lvl 4 or 6 capacitor, depending on the RE (have some but going for better)


Sensor decoy launcher (have one)


Mark 3 proton launcher (maybe a 4 if i can shave enough mass off on REes)


DI REed (I have a prenerf but want one with more armour protection)


reactor REed (i have a high power low mass/level one, but when i Re post 24 ill see what i can fit in, also need a higher level for more armour points)


and a bucket load of armour to fill the rest out.



At the moment mine is fine and cuts through most enemies PvP or PvE with easy, however this loadout will REALLY increase the ships capability and survivability. Im trying to get more armour on the components so if a shot in PvP penetrates my shields and armour (doesnt happen often) it may not wipeout my low armour components.


Just a pity my engine and shield where REed ages ago and didnt loose the reactor drain (however they are from the start of JTL and so pretty much outperform anything now, got to love those old screwy loot tables mixed with lashings of luck!)
