Thread: Droid programming etiquette

Ok,

Here starts my noob questions.

What is the etiquette for asking someone to program a chip for me?

I think I should be looking for the following programs..., I am Rebel so can't program them myself.

Neutral – Capacitor to Shield Shunt (4)
Neutral – Capacitor Overload (3)
Neutral – Reactor Overload (3)
Imperial – Weapons Overload (3)
Imperial – Engine Overload (3)

I know everything is server specific but what do you think is a fair price for these? Not really something you see in the trade forums.

Thanks,

You could also run a vendor search on the bazaar for the programs you want, that's where I found mine when I needed them. On my server at least, the overload 3 programs go for around 5k each. I didn't have any luck finding CtSS4, but a Neutral Ace friend of mine was happy to oblige me there.

I think as long as you provide the unprogramed chips a resonable pilot will be happy to help.

Your loadout looks ok to me but you should realy play around to see what you like.

As to price... well you said it your self... if you think a mark up is to high don't pay it.

(I have seen commands going for 30k on lowca... it's highway robery I tell yah...)

You don't specifically mention your tier, but I'm guessing you must be at least tier 3 to be able to put all those commands into a droid.

Bug fixes. Heh! Smuggling. Heh! A Jedi craves not these things.

My SWG Observations

If they stopped the expansions for one year and gave quality revamps to the professions that need it most, many people would resubscribe.
With all the resubs, and the new players, there would then be plenty of money to hire enough people to do 2-4 quality revamps per year plus 1-2 larger expansions per year and/or 2-4 smaller expansions per year, and not give the BigWigs a pay cut. (Possibly even an increase)

Rebel 4333.

I just pulled those programs from one of the guides I read. I don't know anything about Droid programs except for what I have read, so not sure if I can even use all these at my level.

FYI,

Got all programs for under 5000, one I think I got for 500, another 1000 rest somewhat close to 5k.

What a huge difference they make.

Only thing is I thought my DI with 19 speed was ok, but I think it was something like 80 seconds per command. Is that normal?

I am going to try to find one of the 15 speed 500 mass ones.

Anyone on Bloodfin have one they would be willing to sell?? (Will check the vendors and possibly ask in the trade forums, but every time someone asks about space parts there they get laughed at....)

Thanks again all.

BTW this guide should be stickied or in the FAQ.

Life sucks trying to use the Bloodfin forums for anything other than ground crap. I swear we have the most childish boards.

I think droid chips are WAY overpriced for what they are, I wouldn't pay more than 5-8k for a level 4, and even that's silly considering how little work is required to program one. In fact, they USED to be that cheap on the bazaar, until something unknown happened and prices skyrocketed.

I just get a crate of chips and find a nice pilot. After they're done tip them nicely. Realize that a pilot in space could probably turn out 20-50k in the time it might take to meet up with you and help you, so a reasonable price is still next to nothing. Still, most people seem to be happy with whatever you offer them. As for myself, I'm glad to program for free.

Agreed Nes. And to further the statement, I thinkt hat the Bloodfin boards are useless for anything besides talking about PvP.

The Chilastra forums are 90% worthless chat, 5% complaining about PvP, 3% complaining about SWG in general, and 2% things that belong in the Trade Forum.

I dunno...

Last two space event posts I made were flamed and insulted by a bunch of little children ('cause, like, space is dum, ne1 noes that), it was really sad. I want to run an Imperial space tournament, but I'm not sure I'm up to posting there.
