Did you get the ones ported to Windows 95 or the original DOS games? If you got the Win95 ones and you run WinXP, be sure to mess with the compatibility options if you have problems. If you got the DOS versions, DOSBox will probably help.

Ok, this is a wierd post, might get what I want from it might not. This is really the only place I might get any answers at all.
Does anyone still play the old TIE fighter, X-wing, etc. games? I recently bought a few of them, and just installed TIE fighter on my PC. But get no sound. It won't work with any of the listed sound cards. Like I wierd post. Any help would be awesome!

I should re-try X-Wing vs. TIE fighter. The change in turning mechanics put me off, but what do you expect in a Y-Wing at full throttle?

I still play all of them on occassion. Just finished beating TIE Fighter again a couple weeks back--suppose I should do X-Wing next.
Just gotta remember that I can't hit things...in the old games, they don't bounce. ![]()

Right now I don't have a joystick, so I'm having to fly with the mouse. If it's anything the way you fly with a mouse in JTL, I'm glad I never tried it. I should be getting the one I ordered pretty soon, so I can actually play em, and get some more stick time in JTL. I miss it.
Yeah, and I found out they don't bounce on my first sortie. My brain wouldn't register that I died from running into something. I just kept thinking great, they bugged something in space too.

TIE Fighter is the best Star Wars game ever.
If not the best game ever.

TIE Fighter is THE space sim all others aspire to be.
And I'm still waiting for my TIE Defender or Missile Boat. Rebels need to learn to fear more than a bugged hitbox. ![]()
