Is there anyone out there that has a YT-2400 and would be so kind as to take me up for a short viewing ? I've been a fan of the YT-2400 ever sence Shadows of the Empire came out and I'm really stoked to see it ingame, but it's unlikly I'll ever be able to have one of my owne. If you are a kind hearted soul with this pimp ride, please leave me a message here or send mail to valcyn.ilooka I'll create a charactor on any server you happen to be on for the chance to see this ship. Question.....

Why are you raving about the YT-2400 with a sig that says EU is crap?

Buuuuuurrrrrnnnnnn.

Bug fixes. Heh! Smuggling. Heh! A Jedi craves not these things.

My SWG Observations

If they stopped the expansions for one year and gave quality revamps to the professions that need it most, many people would resubscribe.
With all the resubs, and the new players, there would then be plenty of money to hire enough people to do 2-4 quality revamps per year plus 1-2 larger expansions per year and/or 2-4 smaller expansions per year, and not give the BigWigs a pay cut. (Possibly even an increase)

Quite a few reasons, I'm surprised that your smart enough to notice and yet not able to apply that to figuring out the reasons. First, the game was quite good so I have fond memories there. Yet that does not contradict my belief that EU is crap. What I accept as cannonA and what I see as good gameplay are separate. Second, I simply thinks it's a cool design. To me it looks better than the YT-1300, plus it has the articulated mid section, very cool. Third, my understanding is that SotE is in fact considered cannonA by Lucasfilm. It is the only book allowed to be written that takes place in the middle of the movies. My memory of it's release is that it had the personal George Lucas stamp of approval, something very few ( if any other ) EU stories have. My personal view of the book is that it does not try to explain anything other than how the characters got from ESB to RotJ. It doesn't introduce new concepts or extrapolations, a few new characters but they are not intrinsically important to the SW universe. The story telling simply walks in lockstep with everything from the movies, not expanding on them or contradicting them.

And to the nitwit that said BURN. When your testicles drop and your a big boy all grown up, come back the forums with something constructive to say

I heard the rumor about the "personal stamp of approval" and all that, but I also heard the same about the Zhan Trilogy.

It's also not the only non-theatrical source that could be considered canonA; Labyrinth of Evil and the Clone Wars Cartoons (LoE and CWII detail events leading directly up to ROTS)were both also heavily overseen by Lucasfilm.

You said it was the only book occurring during the timeline of the movies that we know and love, but there was also a book called Splinter of the Mind's Eye that was published after A New Hope, but before Empire even had a completed script. Not a very good book. Only read it if you are a really hardcore SW fan.

Splinter is, at best, fan fic with a major publisher.

And who published it again? After all, I've got the Nalera Conflict coming along nicely...

Above is how I view the vast majority of EU writting.

This post now probly belongs in the General Star Wars forum, but I'm still hoping for a ride in a YT-2400
