Thread: For those of you who are pissed off that JTL will now be free....

Let's put this into perspective:
- We spent $30 to play JTL for 14 months before these people did. That's about $2.00 a month. That comes to around 7 cents a day.
- JTL came bundled with the Total Experience when ROTW came out. This is nothing new.
- Thissuggests that space and ground are more integrated. Sounds like the game is moving toward a more complete SW immersion.
- This will encourage more people to fly. Imagine how cool it would be if by taking these noobs under our wing and showing them the ropes of flying we could start to see full squadrons as a standard rather than as the exception. No more will "mass space PvP" be five on five or even 10 on 10. It'll truly be massive.
I don't see a single downside to this. I don't know about you, but I piss more than $30 away on a single trip to the movies or a couple times eating out. With all the whining that's going on over the NGE I don't really think this issue merits any hostility.

Admittedly, I should be at least somewhat irked by the fact that I just plunked down $20 not 2 days ago for JTL and now it's being hended out.
But frankly I'm enjoying it so much (old-school TIE Fighter and X-Wing vet...man those games rocked!) that I think it was worth it even to have it a week before the others. 
I do sincerely hope they're going to add to this aspect in the future.

I can understand folks who bought JTL within the last month or so being annoyed. However, if you bought it recently as a bundle with the Total Experience, you're in the same boat as the noobs who are getting the starter kit. You've spent the same money but you've also gotten ROTW. I don't think they will. If you just got JTL solo, that's a bit annoying. But, still $20 is a trip to Chick Fillet on a saturday night. Not such a big deal.

Actually, I thought it was pretty common that MMO's package up expansions that are a couple of hops old and ship them out for free?
Besides, this also opens up opportunities for us... maybe we'll be getting some additional content that requires JTL technology to complete. They can't put that content in unless everybody who can get to the content can complete it.

I looked at this as a good thing, personally. With everyone having JTL right off the bat, there's no reason they can't add a lot more integrated space/land content, or even pure space content. In essence it leads to a more complete game experience for everyone - and hopefully it will help bring some more traffic to space too.
