Thread: Is the fiberplast steel plating from the starmap quest any good?

Tell me its useless, please! I just skipped this side quest somehow. I wasn't paying attention to my replies to Nym and now he wont let me do the task that will get me this reward.


this game is retarded sometimes.

There's a lot more rewards than the armor. Good guide on it in Quests and Missions, even though they don't like me to much in that thread.

I was going by a guide in the "game guides" forum and it didn't say anything about there being a side quest to get this armor. It just says "talk to Nym, go do mission, get armor reward..."


I really hope this armor wasn't any good.

I'm not really understanding what you're saying. The Nym's starmap quest is a 4 phase quest with missions that grant ship parts. The armor is only the first of 4 rewards. If you weren't reading your instructions, then check your Quest journal.


The armor itself is only really good after you get it REd like most of the loots in this quest. Thedefenses are high for an L8 sheet, and you can find really low mass loots, and it makes a nice sheet to put in a heavier ship.

the armor is not the first part. It is a 3 phase quest and the tusken mission (where you get the armor reward) is a side quest, which I just found out. I was able to decline this mission and he sent me to kill the trando's on kashyyyk.

eh its an elite for pob ship, does like 1,700ish

i dont think its worth it, i did the next mission after that with the spider clan gang, heh, got to the bottom with a group didnt find the body to loot off of, and then queen spider respawns fast, so yea, lost cause esp with a group of ppl.

The spider queen does not spawn next to the body you need. The body is in the middle of the room surrounded by non-aggro spiders. The stuff next to the queen is random loot crap.


It is possible to, with a little persistence, get to the spider area solo, even if you were lower level (I did it back when my character was like 47). Make sure burst run is ready, wait outside the cave. If you are higher, buff, if not, well, don't, as getting hit for 2k a shot will blow through your buff, likely. The trick is to burst run through, hoping to make it to the area outside or in the spider queen area before you get incapped. Its best if you get hit by the lesser nightsisters also, as they tend to DB less than the elders. The aggro spider that is on the way down there also does not tend to DB. I did this about 6 times before I made it and got incapped near the body and outside of aggro range of anything else. I had no real chance of getting a group for this, so it was the best way.


Another possible option is to see if faction will get you in. At 5k Nightsister faction, they never attack me. I remember these being "Nightsisters" but not sure if they are on Spider Clan faction though. If you could get either of those up to the max... may be able to just wander in.

And just as a note: the item you get from doing the spider part is the most important one in the quest.

It's Level8 armor, and will go in any ship with enough free mass.

The human corpse is in a side chamber halfway down, you can burst run inand snag it before you get killed. Errrrr how can you say it's not worth doing if you've never actually seen the rewards? It's potentially one of the best ship part rewards in the game, if you are lucky.
