I always wondered what was up with these things, but they all mark the end points for various Imperial Inquisition escort missions. I was way impressed with that, wish every squad had something similar.
Yeh, they're cool they are
.
In fact..I might post a catalogue of random space thingies up here because there are a few more I'm interested in too.
Erm...could someone possibly pm me with instructions on how to make clickies? I'm erm..clickieretarded ![]()

Except without the spaces after the < and before the > there. And yes, you do need the quote marks around your URL.
Hehe it seems original, but I guess that you aren't well versed in "classic" sci fi lit. That rock is an Asteroid ship (there's another in Tatoo space, btw) The large oven burner circles are thrusters, and on the opposite you can see the "bridge" Cables across the surface are control lines and com gear and some other random structures. In my mind, its a direct homage to Isaaac Asimov, and soemthing he wrote about in his short story, The Martian Way. In that story, the asteroids were large chunks of ice from the rings of Saturn, and not round, but the description other wise is pretty close.
Now, my reply seems to have accomplished 3 things:
1) informed you on what I think they're there for
2) shown you how much of a nerd I am
3) shown how old school I am ![]()
Enjoy.

Stealth Death Star!
Looks like a pirate outpost to me. Sneaky types hiding in that asteroid. Or a mining operation of some sort...
I have noticed that lots of objects like that are tied to missions, though you wouldn't realize it unless you were paying attention. You know, they'll mention attacking a base of some sort, and it's actually one of those objects. Or something was destroyed, and the mission takes place right next to a noticably large chunk of wreckage.

Wow. Thanks for the info
. I kinda wondered if thats what it was, but I didn't really think anything in Starwars would do that. Also...I vaguely remember from my friend who plays Warhammer 40k that the Orcs used Asteroid ships in that.
Cool though. Your post is probably the best post I ever seen to do with anything ever invented
.
