Thread: Multiplayer ship roles, an idea

Okay I came up with a little idea for the roles on a multiplayer ship, inspired by planes such as the B-17, anyways guys I thought i'd post and see what people think, have a good one!


1) Pilot - enough said, he pilots the ship


2) Co-Pilot/Front Gunner - This man would operate a semi rotating turret at the front of the ship that would cover dead ahead and 45 degrees to the right as well, if the pilot has to leave his station he would automatically take over piloting.


3) Top Gunner - You get the idea, full rotating top gunner


4) Bottom Gunner - same as top gunner


5) Tail Gunner - This man would use a 180 degree rotation gun on the rear of the ship


6) Navigator/Bomber - This man would be responsible for the hyperspace control fo the ship, in addition he would also have an advanced form of radar where he could locate what type of enemy ship was comming and where it is comming from. he would also control a bombing scope where he drops bombs on ships. He would also view a scope showing the condition of the ship componets to alert the mechanics via switches he turns on to set off alarms set across the wall.


7) Mechanic - this man would rely on the navigator to know what componets to repair as they get damaged, he would physically run down the ship and begin repairing the item, he wil lalso be able to modify the ship componets such as overloading parts for increased perfomance at an increases chance of breakdown.


take care guys. I know ships currentlyonly have 2 guns, perhaps this could be an idea for ships that will be added later on?
