Hm.. What Faction are you?

if you are not yet fully Tier 1.. Just go on with the Noob Ship, alas, if you have 1100.. this means ship Cert 1xxx and Level 3 Eaqipment x1xx, you might want to look out for whatever ship cert is in your first box. 1xxx. Privateers have the Dunelizzard there, a very good ship you can will use till Tier 4.

If you have the creds, and can either find one, or find a SW to build one, get a Heavy Mass Z-95. If not, i would suggest getting through the 2111 box in your starter, and then buying a Ywing longprobe, and after that moving to the Xwing and on from there.

I would check your own servers vendor search and just pick the cheapest one.

Also I would agree with going 2111 all the way in you free starter ship then getting a y-wing longprobe, the standard y wing takes 2 pilots to fly whereas the longprobe only needs 1.

in theory, if you do all the grinding yourself, you never have to buy any comps till you are ace (except for an astromech or FC).

I grinding to ace with using only the parts I looted during my grind.

A little luck in looting good parts is nice too of course

Although using looted parts all the way to master is certainly possible I wouldn't recommend it. Working on your first ace you can find good crafted parts especially weapons, armor and reactors at your local shipwright for reasonable prices. And no I don't sell to the public so I have no agenda here.

Use your vendor search at the bazaar to find what you need at the price that worksbest for you. Space is one of the easiest place to make cash.

One side note here. I always have the best luck with speed crafted weapons. Lvl 5s should come in as low as .27. Lvl 7s at .26. Using speed crafted is all about the DPS.
