Hi All,
Two questions here:
1) How do I target friendly or neutral ships? I can use TAB to target enemies, but nothing I do targets friendly ships, like those I need to escort. The Keymapping screen under options says "[" and "]" to cycle targets, but whenI hit them nothing happens.
2) How do I use a mouse and cursor? I know that's vague, so I'll tryto clarify . . . I fly using a joystick, and it has a hatswitch to let me look around the cockpit. What I would like to do is control the starfighter with the joystick and have a cursor on the screen I can use to click the icons and such on the HUD. Problem is when I move the mouse, it looks around the cockpit (similar to using the Hatswitch). This is especially annoying when an NPC opens a comm window with me, as the only way I can reply is to hit CTRL+D to open the datapad (which also gives me mouse control w/ a cursor), and then move it into the comm window. I've clicked the Mouse Look option on and off in options with no change. . .
Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated!! =)

1.) You can use X (default) to target the ship under your reticule, even if its Neutral or Friendly. You can also use I believe Y to cycle through all targets, but that normally takes a while
2.) Pressing "Alt" toggles between the cursor and the reticule control for the mouse. Not sure if that'll help you or not, I only use a mouse, not a joystick+mouse combo.

Target closest non-enemy item is the semi-colon ; and to cycle through them is the apostrophe I believe '
Its great for escort missions, followed with the "foillow" button. The bracket keys are to toggle between your targeted ships' sub-components (to fire upon them instead of a general hit on the ship)

For the Mouse look problem, in options (CTL + O) under controls go to "Starship Piloting Mouse Mode", you can set it to Virtual Joystick.
Not much less anoying
I use a joystick also so I understand.
