Thread: kimo or kihraxz?

Which one of these should i buy?
I'm quite new to jtl, am at 2211 at the mo, which one of these ships would be better?
The kimo looks as though it handles horribly but with room for 3 guns it is tempting, and quite high mass.
The kihraxz looks as though it handles nicely but the mass just seems too low, the current mass of my dunelizard is 45k so i'd have problems fitting my equipment into it. And it only has room for one gun so my firepower will be reduced hugely.
My engine at the moment (crafted) is -
y - 46.1
p - 46.1
r - 46.1
top speed 63.4
I know it's a bad engine, i really need to loot a good one.
also could someone tell me what good ypr stats are so i can know when i loot engines?
Please help me with advice if you can

This really depends on your fighting style. If you like twisting dogfights, the lighter fighter will suit you, but don't expect to take out a gunship with it.
As for the Kimo, it is an amazing chassis. Compare it to the Ixiyen at95K and the Rihkxyrk at 190K and you can see it gives you a lot of bang for the buck. I know someone that has flown the Kimo right up to Master Pilot before replacing it with the Kryat. Throw on a good shield, 2 guns, and a kick-ass enginge, and you can take on anything with it. (I don't use armour and save the mass for the previous items).
However, no matter what you choose, try to get Enginge Overload 2-3 and Weapon Overload 3 from a friendly Imp pilot. This will make your sleeper into a killer.

Whoever made that dunelizard needs to give you an immediate refund. Forty-five thousand mass is terrible. An average dunelizard should have approximately eighty-five thousand.

Ah no my mistake, I meant that I was using 45k of my ships mass, my dunelizard has somewhere around 85k mass.

Personally i stayed with the dune until i could get the ixiyen. Used the ixiyen until master

Like this thread shows, it really depends on what kind of pilot you are. Personally, I think the Kimo, Rihk, and Krayt are top-notch PVE ships, though a properly outfitted Dunelizard can be very nasty as well, but I'd never use any of them for PVP. When it comes down to facing other players (which you're probably not too concerned about yet), then I'd either go with the Dunelizard or the Kihraxz.
As for engines, try to get one with 60+ on all the PYR stats. The level 6 reward engine is still very nice, and until you get that, you should be able to find a looted level 4 or 6 that'll do the trick.

I went with the kimo because of the extra mass... outfittied with some really badass gunz my guilds shipwright made, this thing is perfect. I have it armed ot teh teeth, and shielded and armored to bedammed. I have it outfitted with the best reactor my shipwright could make, and the cert 6 loot engine, proton missile launcher and counter measures. I can dogfight with this ship with no prob at all, actually, I had a friend tell me I handle that ship very well. I just got my Rhyx last night, and I love it as well. It turns like an old shrimp boat, but that ship is PURE tank. Armed with another cert 6 loot engine, a monster reactor, and three advanced green lasers, its like a mini deathstar. Myself and a guldie fly together alot in these, and cover each others backs as the turning isnt so great in these as I said before.
But, sorry, for getting off track, the Kimo I would say is a really well build put together ship if you get the right parts in it. I dont use droid interfaces and flight computers, so I cant give you advice on those.

i agree the ships i used was the scth style2(when outfitted is a pretty good flyer,
dunelizard style1( i love this ship ahndles great),
Kimo sytle1( handles like a brick unless i went half to 3/4 speed then it was fine still loved it),
the rixtzsdfa(for give i done remember the spelling but just like kimo to me).
Then finally the krayt( love it with a passion just wish i have a extra 30k mass lol but who doesnt to me it handles like a dunelizard but has mass to for a good load out.

It is indeed fun to watch how others report what they used and like. Personally, I hated the Ixi and Kihr. I loved my Kimogilla and that was even before I had figured out how to use flight programs.
My progression was:
Scyk
Dunelizard (still deeded and getting better re stuff in it)
Kimogilla
Rhik
Kryat (deeded)
YT-1300 (deeded and someday might be a viable ship with bigger shields/armor)
