How much of kashyyk will i be able to access without having any skills in pilot (and being unable to kill things in space)? Is it even worth getting ROTW for me if i cant complete the missions that give access to that content?

You'll be able to fly to Kashyyyk and land there, and chances are low that you'll be attacked en route (if your character is more than 180 days old, then you can simply fly there in your veteran yacht totally safely). There are some quests and missions that have Space aspects, but by no means all or even most of them.
