Thread: Default Color/Look on Black Sun ships

Hey,
Wondering if any pilots could shed some light on this for me...Sorry if this is the wrong forum as I think this maybe a technical issue but since CS dont seemto look in the technical forum anymore I thought I'd throw this out to any other pilots they may have an issue like this.
I find that on a few of my ships, for example on my Rihkxyrk, the default setting (when its just been undeeded into my datapad) is that its completely black. So black that I cant really make out any detail on it at all. If I try to apply any color to it, its still completely black. I have seen a few pictures of the playable Black Sun ships (such as at http://starwarsgalaxies.station.sony.com/expansion_ships_Black_Sun_Heavy_fighter.jsp) and they are a grey color or some other customised color, a color that allows you to make out what it looks like rather than a rectangular vessel. Recently got a Vaskai also, and its the same thing...complete black and 0 detail to be found, other than the shape of it. No problem in using these ships or anything but I am curious if this is normal? Or is it something to do with my graphical settings?
Another issue I found that maybe connected to this is that on the new Rebel (rebel battle armor), the helmet (http://starwarsgalaxies.station.sony.com/images/features/Rebel-Battle-2.jpg) is completely black and again no detail to be found on it. Everytime I see someone wearing this armor, there head is surrounded in complete black - I can see the shape of the helment, a siloute but no detail or color.
Any help with this would be really appreciated.

Have helped people with similar issues. Usually that type of thing is caused by specularity or reflection map issues, in DirectX or your graphics drivers.
Basically, you need to make sure you're running the latest version of DirectX and the latest version of your display drivers. If you're having problems finding out what graphics drivers you need, you can do Start --> Run --> DXDIAG and then Save Information to dump it all out to a text file. If you copy and paste that into this thread, we can probably point you to the right website to download drivers.
Should probably move this to the technical support forums.
