I tried to figure it out from the FAQ, but I couldn't. I'm now a FL Master Pilot. I can only enter Deep Space once I get enough prestige points, right?

Correct. You need 30k of prestige points, and prestige is gained at the same rate as XP, so it doesn't take much.

I noticed that my xp that I had left over from 4444 did not transfer to prestige points...

Correct it does not change from stored Xp to prestige.

So shoot down a few fighters and you will see you get prestige, instead of xp.

Since the master box supposably takes 7m. You shouldnt have any extra. You do the 2 master quests and might have about 2m exp at the most. Now if you had more then 7m it would roll over.

No... when I did my first rebel squad I got all the xp for the master box (not intentionally I was just helping a friend with missions andother quests) the xp capped and after I aced I still had the same amount of xp and I started getting pretige. XP for pilot never rolls over. when you drop pilot it clears your xp.
