Thread: What's a good refire rate for a lvl 8 RE?

I'm looking at around .389 post-RE with what I've got so far. Just wondering if there's better out there to be had before I pull the trigger. It'll be going in my Vaksai so I'd like to get the refire as low as possible.

Have a look at www.spaceloot.com, compare your stats. Lowest I've personally put together is 0.38 refire (post-RE of course).

.370 post-re is rare but possible.

The best one at spaceloot is .391. I've personally seen a .386.

Three standard deviations, which SEEMS like a likely cut off point for non-exceptional loot drops, would be .383. If you find one under that, stick it in a trophy case.

I don't personally use lvl 8 re's that are over .400 refire rate pre-re. YMMV

For a Vaksai, I think you would be happier going with a crafted lvl 9. You can get the refire down to around .250 pretty easily. Throw the rest of your experimentation into vs. shields (if you can) and I think you will have a mean gun.

I am assuming you want to use the Vaksai for PvP, and as such you will be fighting at incredible speeds. Well placed shots are hard to come by...spray and pray is usually a much more viable tactic, and this can be done more effectively with a fast refire gun.

Now if you were going to use it for PvE, then refire isnt as much an issue as damage and vs. shields

Well, I'm not master pilot yet so I can't use level 9/10 components yet anyway. My guild is going to be taking down corvettes here pretty soon for those of us who still need it for master. I may try to solo it in my Rix before then for the heck of it, though. Definitely not going to risk chassis damage on my Vaksai trying to solo it.

As a tier 4 shipwright the best experimental blaster I can make with resources at hand (admittedly not the best but fairly decent) is:

Armor: 528.5

Hitpoints: 1057.3

Reactor Energy Drain: 2517

Mass: 36478

Damage: 1895.4-3070

Vs. Shields: .501

Vs. Armor: .479

Energy/Shot: 30.8

Refire Rate: .277

That's with a Quickshot 4 mod, max experimentation in refire and the rest into Vs. shields. I'm pretty sure once I get master shipwright I can get the refire down to .250 with Quickshot 5 and a couple more experimentation points.

My level 8 RE jobcame to:

Armor: 735.9

Hitpoints: 735.9

Reactor Energy Drain: 1921.5

Mass: 27946.3

Damage: 2507.1 - 3876.5

Vs. Shields: .660

Vs. Armor .670

Energy/Shot: 13.4

Refire Rate: .390 (rounded up from .389)

I'd haveliked to get the mass a bit lower butI have another reward blaster that I found on the bazaar for 20k last night that I can use as the base for another RE job in the future. Gotta love the E/S of 14.1 on the reward blasters....

As soon as I get master pilot I'll fly with both of 'em and see which I like best.

As for PVP, well, I might do me up a Heavy Scyk to practice with since I can always make more of those once I get master shipwright. Can't replace the Vaksai.

Right now I've got my Vak kitted out with some fairly nice parts (IMO, anyway, I'm not exatcly a space veteran) but I'm sure I'll switch it around a bit as I get more stuff to RE.

Mark III crafted reactor:

Mass: 8225.3

Generation Rate: 13685.3 <--- may be overkill, only using 9532 right now before overloads /shrug

RE level 8 Engine

Energy Drain: 1469.2

Mass: 23957.9

Pitch: 73.4

Yaw: 72.2

Roll: 70.9

Top Speed: 92.9

RE level 8 Shield

Energy Drain: 2263.3

Mass: 27283.8

Front/Rear Shield Hitpoints: 2554.9

Recharge Rate: 15.13

Front Armor: Mark III crafted

Armor: 885.1

Hitpoints: 877.6

Mass: 5658.1

Rear Armor: RE level 4

Armor: 1110.7

Mass: 6852.9 <--- I tend to take more hits from the rearin PVE but I'm assuming I'd move that to the front in PVP? /shrug I'm collecting Level 4,6 & 8 plating for RE jobs

Capacitor: RE level 6

Energy Drain: 656.1

Capacitor Energy: 1349.5

Recharge Rate: 41.5

Booster: Mark IV Crafted

Energy Drain: 654.9

Mass: 15108

Booster Energy: 1127.8

Recharge Rate: 33.5

Consumption Rate: 153.4

Acceleration: 48.6

Top Booster Speed: 35.0

Droid Interface: RE level 8

Energy Drain: 454.5

Mass: 12458.7

Speed: 12.2

Mark III Protons and Micro Chaff launcher round out the package.

I like it so far. I'm having to temper my impatience and wait for good shots due to the single gun but it hasn't been too bad of an adjustment. I got lazy spraying and praying in my 2-gun B-22 and 3-gun Rix.

.370 is about the most sensible plateau to shoot for. You need at least a .394 pre-RE to get under the .375 to get rounded down to .370 over time.
