Thread: Anyone else having crafted ship components change names?

I've bought several components that had been changed to a different name with the component level at the end. When I go to load the component onto my ship, and check back a bit later, the level number had been removed. Like if an engine crafted by a shipwright was named "Fast and Agile Engine LVL 9" and I went to load it onto my ship and check back on it a bit later, the 9 in it would be gone. I've also had some shipwright crafted armor just change its whole name to "5". None of my looted components have changed their names like this, though. Any reason why this might be happening to me?

I've never heard of this happening, though with the mechanics of JTL I could see it. My guess would be the crafted components have names that would be rejected by the name filter if you were attempting to give the same name to an RE'd part, and sometimes this somehow causes a conflict that causes them to be renamed, most likely if you've got the part installed in your ship and then log out for a few hours.

Even that doesn't sound terribly likely, but it's a possibility. If you don't want your stuff's names getting messed with, the only solution I know of is to pull all your crafted parts out of your ship before logging each time.
