I know you can inspect and steal the cargo of freighters, but is there any reason for this? I see nothing cool in my inventory... do i get money? is this just a fun thing when your bored... what's the deal?

some missions have you raid specific targets.

but otherwise no, there isno reason to raid a freighter or anything else when just surfing the stars.

They should implement that... i mean i just raided a frieghter of medical supplies... where's my stimpacks?! hehe or at least give me extra credits for my trouble. Than we could have pirate missiony things, and all would be well. We could even have like a generic mission terminal for raiding or search and destroy missions so we don't have to deal with the missions they give us at the trainers... anyways i'm just dreaming, it'll probably never happen...

the concesus on the forums from what ive read is that its part of a system they either removed prior to release or have yet to fully implement.

maybe they will make use of it someday.
