i mean its almost gamebreaking lagariificness
to see a wings turn 180 degrees i can deal with but when a xwing or kimo does it.....
i turned everything as far down as i can and i still seem to get bad lag... only above kashyyyk
i realize that its a popular spot right now... but i havent ever seen lag this bad before

It's probably all the asteroid chunks drifting in the corners of space. They seriously need to add a time to live to those things. If lag is gone after the restart/patch tomorrow we'll know for sure.

I was havinga hard time in Dant and Lok space on Eclipse.

Fighting NPC'sI've fought hunderds of times before and I know shouldn't act they way they are. They weren't this bad just last week, but now the duty mission I was doing times out because can't kill them fast enough.

I noticed that even when I could hit them the damage did not register right away (no change when the sheilds fickered, but seconds later when I wasn't shooting the stats would drop).

It is so bad that once tonight SWG locked up and stopped responding. I had to exet out to my desk top and use the task manager to shut it down.

I reckon the general lag in all space systems is;

  1. The asteroid chunks, as mentioned above.

  2. Target boxes around everything in space.

  3. Server is chugging after the patch

And if you think Kasshyyyk is bad, then don't go to "Deep Space", because that is 10 times worse.

Normal fps in space 25-30.

Fps in Deep Space tonight 4-8

TBH, the ground games extremely laggy as well atm

In the case of Kashyyyk add the following:

  1. Lots of NPCs (more target boxes)

  2. Nebulae in well travelled zones

  3. Large non minable asteroid fields

  4. extensive debris fields

As I've said elsewhere, the devs seem to have deliberately take every Lag inducing feature in JtL and tossed it into Kashyyyk space, in an attempt to make it "interesting" I would have been far more pleased with on large asteroid field, and a new asteroid texture, to match in with the surface of Avatar better.

Bad form devs, I feel like im in cut-n-paste space, and as interesting as the new missions are, I won't have fun of I can't shoot the things I'm accustomed to being able to shoot. (at this point I'm regularly ignoring Gotal Specialists in my missions because I just cannot take them out in a timely fashion. Its a tier4 khirax for gosh sakes, I kill hundreds of them in Black Sun duties, and yet here in Kashyyyk I have to ignore them....)

yeah I've got the same problem its just too laggy to fight effectively. On my Royal TIE mission it was a pain disabiling the vette, when I do them in deepspace/kessel in minutes.

I'm not sure if it's caused by lag but does anyone else notice that NPC fighters are able to evade alot better? I've been finding that higher Tier fighters seem to be making sudden course corrections when fire is directed at them. They seem to do this as well when they are dogfighting. It gets to be very frustrating when you're lining up a shot only to have the targetting reticle dart about. It's as if the NPC vessels are making instanteous course corrections in random directions. I'm finding this is happening in every space sector as well.

It does add an element of challenge to the game... but the frustration level can get high when you're chasing Target-Lead Reticles like they were butterflies...

Nothing as annoying in that lag than the warping gunboats in Kashyyyk space. Especially with their speed and agility them warping onto you from 800m is really not cool. 2400 shield and armor disappearing in less than 2 seconds and your booster not responding for another 5 seconds, I'm deeply saddened that space was ruined this way.

I dunno, I think the 'warping' is on purpose. Good ol' SOE quality programming making if difficult.
