Thread: Overt RSF (or any freelance for that matter)

I'm imperial on ground, which isn't too relevent, retired inquisition, currently RSF pilot. When I declare in space, at an imp station, and then try to get to kessel/deep space via the neutral station in dath, I am told imperials are not welcomed here. So I jump over to the endor system to try going from the imperial station there... and I'm lacking the imp prestige points to go. What do I do to get to the deep space system, as an overt imperial RSF pilot

You can't go to Deep Space while already declared, but as Kessel doesn't cost any pilot prestige, you should be able to use the Imperial Claw station in Endor to get out there.

damn, would be nice to go back to deep space with the krayt while declared. 200fp a gunboat was nice, and pretty much a gauranteed 600fp everytime you found them

Guessing here, but can you go to Endor imp station, declare, kill 30k worth of imp prestige and then access DS via the Claw station?

No, you still get neutral pilot prestige even when you're overt. To my knowledge, there's no way to get around this.

What's the point of needing to be overt before going to Deep Space? When you com the station to go to Deep Space you have to declare there before you go in anyway, so I don't see the problem here.

The problem is that you're not overt in DS so you can't farm faction points. You're just PvP enabled and that's it.

That seems buggy/not well designed. If any freelance squadron should be able to get factioned prestige, it should be the RSF, it being so heavily restricted/tied to the empire.

I agree 100% with you on this. It would help if a dev would say whether it's intended that privateers can't farm FP in Deep Space, but my guess is it's not, and that the way it works now is an oversight rather than anything intentional.
And if it IS intentional, they ought to rethink that. I'm an Imperial pilot these days, so it doesn't affect me anymore, but as there is essentially zero mechanical difference between a covert Rebel, Imperial, or privateer, nor one between an overt of any faction, I see no justification for penalizing privateers in this manner.
