Thread: Planning a compilation.. and we need your help!!
Heres what Im looking for...
1: Name of Squadron that mission is recieved from (i.e. CorSec, Havoc Squadron, Imperial Inquisition)
2: Tier and skillbox that quest corresponds to (i.e. CorSec Tier III mission II (skillbox II))
3: The primary objective (The one that the trainer initially gives you) This information can be found by opening your datapad (Ctrl+D), and clicking on the data tab, you will see a symbol resembling a figure 8 with Space: Capture, or Space: Escort etc... beneath it. This is your primary objective.
3: Any secondary objectives: For most space quests (especially Tier III quests) there will be secondary objectives that are assigned after the first is completed. When you see a mission update on your screen, you can open your datapad again, and it will list the new mission such as Space: Assassination etc...
4: Any information you feel is pertinent or vital to completing this mission successfully. For example, Storm Squadron Tier IV exit quest has a secondary objective of Space: Destroy at the end of it that requires you to engage 8 Individual fighters as well as two Tier IV Gunboats. Vital information would be something like 'BRING A FRIEND' because it is very unlikely you will survive this mission on your own with your current skills/equipment.
5. Reward recieved upon completion. A reward is placed in your inventory when completing quests related to your pilot faction advancement, there is currently no system message stating that this award is recieved, so it is easy to miss among the collection of stuff that you probably have stuffed in your inventory after landing. However, there is an easy way to locate the loot that you recieve from your quest. If you open your inventory (Ctrl+I) you will see the jumble of your items. If you close it and reopen it, all items will be sorted by type. Once you have your inventory sorted, double click to converse with the original mission giver. He will give you your reward credits, faction, and the loot will be placed in your inventory. Be sure to leave your inventory open when talking to the mission giver to insure that the loot item does not get sorted in with the rest of your loot so you will be able to identify it easily.
This should give us a good start towards the guide, once we've gathered all the info, we can post it all in one big thing with an index and all that, but right now we just need the facts!!
Edit: Noticed a partial sentence I never finished =)

Imperial Storm Squadron Tier 3 Mission 2
Get from Yavin Imperial Base (Name of dude here)
4 parts:
Disable, Inspect and Dock with Advanced Recon Fighter. Once docked, get data and fight off group of 6-8 Rebel fighters, mainly Tier 4 X- and A-wings. Good strategy here is right after finishing the docking procedure, run straight for the station. The group of fighters will separate from the hutts and other factions in area and follow you to the station where you can fight off them and repair youself easily.
Disable, Inspect and Dock with Advanced Recon Freighter. The freighter is labeled "scout" and is protected by a group of Rebel fighters. Don't worry about them, just move in quickly, disable the freighter, and get the data. Hyperspace somewhere else. You'll then be instructed to take the data to a Lambda Cruiser elsewhere in the sector.
Deliver Data. On the way to deliver the data, you will be attacked by a large group of Rebels. Kill them if you want to, but there's no need. Just hyperspace to D-435, repair and go to waypoint. Dock with ship to deliver data.
Patrol Path. Next step is to run a patrol. After 4 uneventful waypoints you'll be told to stand guard with a group of 10 or so Tie Interceptors. After a few seconds a very large group of Rebels will hyperspace in. There will be a Nova Cruiser in there, so disable that first. Get the weapon first, then the reactor or engine. Now is a good time to get repaired. Come back and finish off the group before they get all the Ties.
Mission over.
Time: 90 minutes. Can be soloed.

Having done 3 freelancer squadrons and almost finished with rebel vortex I can safely say reward items are factional. I dumped all my spaceloot in a backpack before speaking with the trainer so I now have a bag with all the rebel reward items and noted at which box I got them. After I've done the 30 fighters and corvette, to see if they give rewards, I'll put the full list with names and stats in a thread, with the next two posts reserved for freelancer and imperial rewards.
I think it's better to stick the reward items in a seperate thread for quick reference, you're either stuck in a mission or looking for which mission/faction to do for a specific item.
It might be a good idea for the compilation too, get a thread for each squadron going and reserve the first 20 posts. This allows you to do the final editing so all mission descriptions have the same format and are nice and tight together instead spread out over a 10+ page single thread.
Edit: I'm planning to do the other 2 rebel squadrons too, I'll be taking notes of the missions.

Exactly what I was plannin on, then get a sticky (hopefully) for the index page that has the links to all the individual squadron threads. Thanks a million for workin through the loot info, you are correct they are factional, but I wanted to clarify for everyone which boxes etc they get which item (particularly reward gun, shield and engine) You actually get a reactor, capacitor, armor, droid interface, and booster as well =)

13 pieces so far, 1 at tier 1, 1 for every mission at tier 2, 3 and 4. I'm worried that I missed 3 pieces at tier 1 so I'll be keeping my eyes wide open when working on the next squadron. Don't remember which tier it was, but at one of them I received component levels I could use without having the certs granted in that tier's component box, but training the component box gave me a component at the level of my newly granted certs so the rewards seem to be tied to specific boxes too. If this is not making any sense, it'll be clear when I post it all. Doing 30 fighters friday eveningand hope to find/get a corvette group this weekend too.
