Thread: Rebel 4-4-3-3 mission please advise
In missions where the fire is thick and heavy and all aimed at you like this, you need to revise tactics a little. From my experience, I can guess that you are riding one target just a little too long, in hopes of getting him dead. You need to begin to take your shots as you can, target engines quickly, and AS SOON AS you begin to take fire from the rear, break from that target, and loop in behind the guys shooting you. Even if you didnt get the engines on your first target, and he only took a couple hits, switch. pick a new target and repeat. Keep it up, every time you begin to get hit, switch off, and use your shunt during the turns. Eventually you will disable engines on some, and be able to proceed on to a clean target. once you have the numbers down to a manageable level, you can focus on your main target, or finish off disabled ships, if you feel you have time.
Hint: if these are straight up unshielded TIEs most of the time, get a good crafted disruptor for yout 3rd weapon. Unless you are well geared with REd guns, this will be a helpful option vs the unshielded TIEs.
This is a tricky mission.
Yeh you are right you are Public enemy No1 and the tie's came after you relentlessly.
Whoevers mission it is get an A-wing, get the fastest engine you can and just run them back and forth 1km each side of target.
Meanwhile get your wingmento blow them away as they won't turn to attack them.
If ya get in a dogfight, boom boom, your dead.
If my memory serves me correctly, I nevereven fired a shot during this mission when i did it, good wingmen are solid gold![]()
Thankyou both for the info - I shall put out the rallying call to my wingmen and return to this mission with fresh enthusiam.
Float like a butterfly, and let your wingmen do the stingin - got it.
Will report on progress. Roger Roger.
Yeah, I did this mission on my X-Wing. It was... interesting... to say the least. ![]()
After failing the first part (ship hypered out) I took a crack at the second part, and since the mission objecitve is more "survive 20 TIE's all gunning for you at once than "Don't let any of them escape", you basically fly around dodging ties at manuevering speed for the duration fo the time. IFF spoof and super-shield command both come in rather handy here.
In addition, if you're not doing so already (I wasn't at least...) you'll want to pick up privateer/Imperial droid commands. Reactor/Engine/Capacitor Overload III are most important for this mission, in addition to capacitor to shield shunt IV (or III). This lets you manuever better in addition to being able to shunt your weapons capacitor to completely re-fill your shields when things get harry.
Learned the value of getting privateer/imperial commands that day (which was actually less than a week ago) heh.
YEEEEEEEEHAH!! Mission accomplished!
Loaded up a shield that pulled moons out of alignment, had three freelance wingmen flying lead, readied my faithful R5 (pothead) to shunt like he'd never shunted before, took a deep breath and prepared to dive clean into the broiling mass of ties ahead of me.
The privateers split in formation in front of me asI feltthe dialed down inertial compensators push me back in my seat. I went straight for the oppressor with laser fire flashing around me as my wingmenengaged theties. Pothead informed me that the oppressor's engines were disabled - and with a slight smile I thought 'here we go'...
Many many gutwrenching turns later, and a few curses directed at the infiltrator droid who can't fly at more than walking pace, the recently liberated oppressor jumped out of system. My wingmen watched me like hawks as I made the necessary jumps to deliver the intel, and finally General Ufwol's gravelly voice uttered over the comm: "Mission accomplished"
Two lots of training later and I hit 4-4-4-4 and transferred to Corellia. Thankyou for your advice pilots, it feels damn good to get that one out the way.
